Current best swing in golf

I enjoy watching both the PGA and Euro Tour so much now because they can all swing the pizz out of it. So many great swings on every tour these days it is fun for me to watch being a swing junkie. I can't name half of the swings I like it would take so long.

There're swings I personally like a lot but wouldn't go so far as to call them great swings. Like, my personal favorite is and forever will be Freddie Couples' but there's so much about his swing I'd never recommend myself or anyone try to do. His tempo, of course, is something to marvel and repeat but his super late hip turn, cupped wrist at the top with a huge shoulder turn not many are capable of ... ? Yeah, wouldn't try to model my own after much of that despite how much I love watching him do it.

In terms of everything a golf swing should be? I dunno man, gonna be hard to top Ernie. Or Adam Scott.

If you say Adam Scott or Ernie Els then you are really saying you like a pretty swing because they are not the most functional swings. Furyk had a more functional swing and given the purpose of a golf swing is to try and have the lowest score than Furyk's would have to be one of the best swings.

Viktor Hovland has a swing that can win a lot of golf tournaments. Min Woo Lee as well. Anne Van Dam has a great swing but seems to struggle with her setup.

Ernie Els - 4 Majors, 19 PGA Tour wins, 28 European Tour wins, 1 Japan Golf Tour win, 3 Asian Tour wins, 16 Sunshine Tour wins, 5 PGA of Australasia Tour wins and 19 other wins.

Jim Furyk - 1 Major, 17 PGA Tour wins, 1 Korn Ferry Tour win, 1 Sunshine Tour win and 7 others.

You could delete everything else after PGA Tour wins and the view that Furyk has a more functional swing that Els falls down completely. Els wins in both form and function.

I like what jack said about it, he goes slow like that because it’s manufactured positions and doesn’t have any rhythm. Takes good timing

I still like Tommy Fleetwood's swing at this point. Such great clubface control and makes it look easy. Generates good speed and is one of the premier ballstrikers on Tour.

I would consider Rory's swing to be a "cool swing" but it's not aesthetically pleasing (smooth) to me.

It's a bit tense, violent, with a tendency to bob up and down/back and forth. It certainly is awesome to watch the results, though.

Adam Scott has the most classic technically textbook swing

Tiger Woods - when he was healthy and needed to make a swing was still the gold standard, when you really think about it when was the first time TW missed a shot with any club in the bag when he really needed that shot

If he's talking about golf, I will always listen to what Jack Nicklaus has to say, but that doesn't make him always right (just probably so).

I don't see a lack of rhythm in Matsuyama's swing. To me, his swing goes 'top, shift, swing', and every swing is 'beat, beat, beat'. He's almost like a windup toy. Moreover, things that involve 'timing' are usually inherently rhythmical. If Nicklaus wanted to say Matsuyama was more like a robot than a golfer, I'd have an easier time going along with that.

What the heII does best swing even mean? Sounds like you mean prettiest or smoothest. Best is the most winning or one that doesn't cause injuries... pretty dont mean squat. Yeah my playing partner has a pretty swing and gets all these lame compliments but these chops dont get that how you hit it is what matters... yeah Im a little butt hurt can you tell lol

With all due respect to the big T, I have always thought his swing was a bit painful looking. Wedges look good. Els now seems off balance in finish; his swing always seemed to be the best, along with Boom Boom.

Dark horse: Matt Wolff. Saw him live at Torrey and he just smashes the ball. And appears to have total confidence in his swing.

yea, I was watching fleetwood on the range at BMW last year and he was striping it, better strikes vs. others around him, only problem I see is his swing gets a little too hooky especially under pressure.

Everyone who has commented is pretty spot on in regards to the best swings on tour. In my own swing, I'm always looking at Tiger old and new, Scott and Van Dam because my natural swing relates more to them/I feel more comfortable hitting their positions.
