That's a neat story. I liked Stewart as well. It's mentioned in the book his wife wrote that he liked to sign autographs to a person's name to discourage people from reselling it for money.

Rory with the driver....exquisite and powerful.

Tiger with the wedges....great spin, trajectory and distance control.

Kuchar with the putter...seems like every one has a chance.

 

Scott doesn't belong on list ...very overrated swing imo. Looks sloppy into the finish.

I'd have to go with Rory, but I think the biggest reason is because of his BALANCE throughout the swing. Sure, the mechanics and motion are absolutely beautiful to watch, but I think his incredible balance is the key to allowing everything else to happen the way it does, mechanically. I'm always amazed to watch his follow-through and how it finishes so cleanly, crisply and consistently each and every time. And I find the more I simply try and focus on staying balanced in my own swing, I see big improvements in my ball-striking.

Yea. I think Overall it’s Scott. But Louis and Xander are impressive too. And I like Rory until yoU hand him a wedge. If he’d just learn how to hit a low fade with a wedge when it’s prudent , he’d grow again as a player.

Rory's is just so pure and obvious to everyone weather you play the game or not. Si Woo Kim, Collin Morikawa, and Anne Van Dam are my favorites to watch

If you look at Rory swinging at age 7 or 8, it hasn't changed that much. the Kid was a natural, and still is. Although, I must say, I liked chunky Rory better than gym rat Rory.

Best natural swing ever? Sam Snead.

My favorite swing of all time? Not particularly pretty or smooth and silky, but I go with Tom Watson.

I personally love Montys swing and tempo more than anyone who has ever played...

Jack, Johnny Miller, Vijay Singh, Tom Weiskopf, Greg Norman are all tied for 2nd place on my list

which is decidedly reverse c heavy...

 

all on that list copied jack...so he may be my favorite if I truly thought about it...

montys dad was secretary at Royal Troon and he had access to the uncut BBC reels and copied jacks positions...

but I liked montys tempo...whereas jack and Johnny Miller absolutely hammered the ball...

vijays tempo was dang near my number 1

but montys was pure perfection...absolute piece of art

Rory for anything full swing.. Driver to 8 iron... when he has a half shot or anything lower than an 8 iron, i have the same heebeejeebees as when Tiger pulls a Driver in his hands. Quite average. So he has best full swing.

A good swing should not only take into consideration results but also longevity.

So I'm going to say Bernhard Langer.

Not pretty but technically so good. Releases the leading elbow like Snead, takes pressure of the back and allows a good hip turn.

Great post. Rory has a little flip in his swing although not as bad as JT or Day. The only thing that keeps him straight is momentum. Any time he tries to dial it down he struggles to keep it in play. I would like to see him make the fade his stock shot like DJ and Koepka did. He might not hit those monster drives but he will win more majors.

Rory not natural!? Rory is like the prototype for a guy that has kept the same "natural", elite swing his entire career. He has made only minor tweaks, if anything. When has Rory ever done a swing overhaul or needed a teacher to "train" him to hit a ball? He hasn't. You can find footage of him as a kid and teenager where he had the same move he has today.
