Except the fact that they have already regulated every facet of equipment meaningful to distance (the ball regulations have all been in place since at least the late 70’s). What you are trying to argue is that they didn’t act sooner on certain (only miss IMHO was max size which should have been limited sooner), but don’t pretend like they have done nothing...

The NFL should have capped the allowable weight for offensive linemen at 265 pounds back in the 60's and 70's.  This 300+lb stuff is just crazy and it's bad for the game!

Agreed. Some people forget that the goal of the game is to get the ball into the hole in as few strokes as possible and focus way too much on the optics of achieving that goal.

I was thinking that too. I believe Phil used to say Augusta is a course that rewards distance as much as any other so you really want to mash it there

They should have rolled the ball back when Bryson was in first grade.  6,900 yards should be plenty for a major.  Golf should take no longer than 3:30 to play.

Not to mention carrying it 320+ and hitting even some fairways on a course that sets up fast and narrow actually does take a lot of skill . That drive Bryson hit a couple of holes back was incredible.  Anyone can be a muscle bound idiot...he is hitting shots too
