To me Bryson is a different sort of Slugger then past sluggers. There is something so painfully one dimensional about his long game. The one length irons, the jack hammer one plane swing, it all just offends my senses. I think he represents a very extreme example of the science of sport’s influence on the game of golf moving forward. Tiger and Daly were sluggers, but they possessed the rest of the games artful nuances, they weren’t trying to eliminate them from their arsenal by choice and strategy. I think that is the important distinction; that is the difference I find worrysome.

Hahaha De Champ Epxress shut up 90% of golfwrx. Its gone all quiet on the forum - HE IS THE NUMBER 1 PLAYER IN THE WORLD FACT!!!

I think his college coach in 2015 said that in 5 years Bryson would be #1 in the world or in a straightjacket

astonishing performance on the course tiger thinks is the hardest course in the world.  its possible that the masters winning score wont be this good.

Yes it's possible but only 3 times since 1989 has the Masters total under par been -5 or worse

It was quite a stunning performance from Bryson and he deserved the win. What struck me as the round went on was the relative straightness of his drives...yes a few rolled into the rough but the control he has with that power could be game changing in the long term.

It was made all the sweeter by Sky Sports having Paul McGinley crying into the mic about distance and the way the game's going. Not only did he fall flat every time he built up to moan about it, Ewen Murray went all in on the Bryson love and kept congratulating him. Glorious.

I spent most of the day watching football, but when I did tune in, it looked like Bryson displayed a fair amount of touch and nuance to go along with the power smash.  Good on him, he is owning his process and playing great golf.  Great win

People who think everyone who uses steroids are completely jacked have clearly never spent much time around people who use steroids.

Never said that, but nice trying. He added a lot of mass, but tons of muscle? Sure, he added muscle, but definitely more fat. Are you even familiar with tren? Probably not. Stop while you’re still behind.

@Dr. BlockThere will always be change, it's the nature of all things, including golf. BD has shown there is a different way to play the game professionally. Does it mean it will become the only way to play it? Only time will tell.

Bryson drove the ball great, putted well, showed touch and finesse - it is just too convenient (and totally wrong) to suggest this guy has ever been one dimensional.  He won with an all around performance that was a huge cut above everyone else today.  Who knows where it leads, and plenty of examples of him not being the world's greatest person on or off the course, but maybe this propels him into more consistency and maybe he grows a little as well.

notable finishes; zach johnson turns in his best major performance in a long time, Zalatoris should not spend another year on the KF, i think oosthuizen is a lock to sneek in another major win before his career is over.

Agreed regarding Zalatoris.  The kid is a stud and if not for stoppage would already have his card.  Zach and Louis represented themselves well too.

All the talk will be about Bryson...he played amazing today.
