Will probably be the final straw in the ball debate. Cam Champ is coming for Augusta too. Maybe in 2022 Augusta will make players use a special ball. Andy Johnson had a great tweet. Winged Foot spent millions of dollars on lengthening the 16th. Then Bryson went driver wedge on it. Bryson will do the same to the 13th at Augusta should they lengthen it without blocking out the tee shot.

There's no reason that Augusta or Winged Foot couldn't play challenging at 6,900 yards.  It's a matter of how far the governing bodies want the ball to travel.

Errr hate to sound like a nerd but was it "obvious" he got relief there like he said? Sprinkler head seemed far enough away from the ball. That official pretty much agreed with everything without appearing to reflect on the situation and rules.

Bryson is 19th in putting and 3rd around the green. It's not just about distance for him. But he's also 3rd in driving and 3rd in approach.

Move the tee up and change to a par 4. Problem solved.

So what does ‘bifurcation’ mean?  Are they going to assign different golf balls to each player such that equality of outcome is achieved for all competitors?  If so that’s so progressive of them. 
 

If a limited flight ball is mandatory I’m sorry to say but BAD will still hit it further.

Or keep the tee as it is and make it a par 4. Problem is that Bobby Jones designed the 13th so that it is a "momentous decision" should you go for it in two. Now, it's an easy mid iron with little risk involved.
