Just rejoined!  Headcover is sweet!  Cash bag will be used for tees, markers, divot tools,etc.....

Joined for my 4th year in a row. I might actually use the cash bag for cash and keep in my bag. I typically just settle up bets out of pocket, but might be nice to have that money separate. Would be a nice way to know if I am up or down on bets. Throw $100 in at the beginning of the year and only pay or add to the bag. Every year the putter cover just goes on my wall as I use a mallet. 😞

Probably going to join for first time this year. Need a new towel and for what you pay on eBay for them you might as well join to pay retail for them and get the extra goodies. 
 

That’s assuming members get first dibs on towels? Are they included in the 48hrs of pre release time?

 

Also, is there is a time limit to when to join to get the kit? Probably wasn’t gonna join until later this month.

I'm excited to see if this thread goes like the previous couple of club Cameron threads. Starts off with excitement. People saying which kit items they love and hate. Then the releases come and the majority are disappointed. A few get lucky and score the bags (95% flipping them without ever using them), but for the vast majority of the bunch, lots and lots of disappointment with the occasional "I actually like the design of this one" comment thrown in there.

 

Best of luck "scoring" whatever magical bag, headcover, shirt or random azz tool you convince yourself you need in the 10 second window he gives you to decide before its sold out.

Oh, I wasn’t criticizing. I understand, they’re not everyone’s thing. I wouldn’t buy a Swag cover for $5.

If the feel/leather of this 2021 headcover is as cheap as the 2020 I predict much disappointment

Interesting.  To me, a good quality headcover is nice to have but purely for using purposes.  But I prefer a non-flashy, genuine leather one that's magnetic so I can stick it to a wedge or iron while I go putt.  What is it about Scotty Cameron headcovers that has you so loyal?

Did you get a T22 putter?  It seemed like last year's club cameron headcover was VERY similar to the T22 putter headcovers.  I didn't do the club cameron but I found the T22 headcover was definitely subpar quality for a $600 putter.

 

You'd think Scotty wouldn't want to put his name on any headcovers that weren't at or above the quality of headcovers sold in the pro shops of your local golf courses.  

 

I understand the pressures to maximize profits though.  It's not like he's running the show, it's the board/bosses at Acushnet pushing the cost savings.

I only buy things that I game. Whether it be headcovers, putters, bags, tools. I’ve only had one instance of buying on and never using it. It was the Scotty Masters cover with the Arnold Palmer tribute. I sold that one this fall for 5x what I paid for it. That being said, I don’t like any of the Swag stuff enough to game that’s come out to date. Not knocking their quality as I’ve never had one. I do like TBC designs as well though and may end up joining over there also. 
 

Second, I took the last two-three years off from golf and collecting. So the last time I joined Club Cameron was 2017. No one else was really around back then. Seeing the Swag stuff when I came back didn’t really do anything for me, like I said above. 
 

Lastly, I’ve never had an issue with quality or the Velcro of the Cameron covers. I usually game them for a season or two and get rid of them. I don’t hoard them.

I can support that.  Like with Nike sneakers, there tend to be a lot more "flippers" buying up the inventory at the time of the release than "users".  This just makes me feel bad for the users because they actually want the item versus the flippers often time appear to spend 2 or 3 hours buying, listing and shipping an item for a grand total of $20 or 30 profit.  Only winners are ebay and ups/usps.  I don't think most would do it if not for the chance at large profits from the rare limited handful of headcovers randomly shipped or the bags, which besides the staff bag, still generate healthy profits for them.

 

You have a solid bag setup by the way.  Next season I definitely want to test out the Ventus Black.  Had a Ventus blue I just moved on from due to the soft mid section but the ventus black (with it's more consistent profile) is definitely on my bucket list to test out.   That's interesting you jump from a black to a red in your 4 wood and 7wood or hybrid.  Good way to go from a 4 wood that rolls out to a 7 wood that lands and stays on the green though.  Do the 2 shafts feel pretty similar to you or is there a pretty noticeable difference in the bend point?

I've stopped collecting the recent stuff because they seem to have lost a lot of the originality/creativity that made Cameron products so appealing. Like did you see the last masters headcover? Yikes. But the beauty of this hobby is that there have been so many good ones made in the past I still look around for some of his older stuff from time to time. The real issue though is that I just can't use velcro headcovers anymore. It's such a pain compared to the magnetic ones. So now I just collect/display/trade/sell the Cameron ones and I'll pick up the Swag ones I like strictly to game (the nostalgia from the Home Alone cover got me in the feels). I'll probably pass again on the Club Cameron membership since I haven't enjoyed anything since the 2017 cycle, which was VERY good. Unfortunately it's been a steep decline since.

Was stoked to see my renewal email then was like "Meh." Last year was rad enough with the den caddy that I was OK getting a headcover I couldn't use (c'mon, gimme an option for a mid-mallet) but I don't need/want a bag ... to put in my bag (and who even carries cash in 2021? We use Venmo) and another headcover I can't use. 

 

All the special releases were either sold out immediately or didn't have a mid-mallet option all last year so totally not even worth it for me. 

 

Den caddy is cool though. Bought a buncha used Titleist range balls to keep in it beside my practice mat.
