Same thing will take place this weekend during the event when some of the WRX sad sacks again criticize Charlie Woods for myriad idiotic made up reasons so they can feel better about themselves. Real tough guys here that criticize any young child let alone a child of a tour golfer. Hopefully WRX management does the right thing.

With Charlie's exclusion from the recent Taylormade Christmas Card the rumor is this will be his last event as a TM Staffer. Early indications that he is going the free agent route.

I can't believe he's playing solid clubs like this and not something a touch more forgiving. Unreal talent though. I think a different career path would be ideal unless HE wants it.

Surely you've logged onto some form of social media following golf? The amount of middle aged men fawning over an 11 year old is pretty....insane? amazing? disgusting? I'm not sure.

 

Maybe all 3.

 

Charlie is already a millionaire. He'll never amount to his father - just due to what Tiger has accomplished. Maybe a major or two and some tour wins - with an assload of PR campaigns in between to tack on a new extra million of his own.

 

But hey, He's 11. No one should praise not trash him at this point. I genuinely hope to see him play on the tour and hope he achieves his goals whatever they may be.

Who's fawning over him?  You mean the people who are impressed with how he plays and how he carries himself?  Yeah.  If that's "fawning", fine.  I'm guilty. 

 

But who's handed him major championships and the hall of fame?  Or even a PGA tour career?  Nobody.  Everyone I hear who is apparently fawning over him point out he's only 11.   He could be the best 11 year old golfer in the world, and most people realize that doesn't mean he will make it in pro golf.  Also, even though he's obviously very privileged, he will be under pressure given his dad.

 

I honestly don't hear too much fawning.  I honestly hear more people who seem irrationally disgusted that this privileged 11 year old happens to be pretty damn good at golf and doesn't seem like he's a total a******.

Wish I could like this post more than once. Lots of sad people here that constantly need to criticize others as if they are perfect themselves. If somebody here who is allegedly a grown adult whining about an 11 year old child playing in a golf event with his dad and having fun those people need to look in the mirror and ask themselves why they are so angry at a child.

It's not so much the pumping up, it's more the boot-licking obsequiousness...could the media be kissing Tiger's Word not allowed any harder? It's very unseemly but not unexpected.

Tiger had him playing blades up until a few weeks ago when he put the MC's in. With a 3 iron to boot!

As Taylormade chimed in, the pictures of those irons are a little outdated, in terms of versions he's playing. Here's a pic from Round 1 and you can see the difference:
