Can’t wait to watch Tiger and Charlie hit the links tomorrow…one of the sporting events I’ve been most excited about over the last few months after I heard Tiger will be swinging the sticks again!!

No, I’m saying once I heard that Tiger and Charlie were participating it became the sporting event that I’ve been most excited about watching compared to any other event over the last few months.

When Charlie asked his old man if he could replace his 3 and 4 irons with hybrids, Tiger grounded him for a week.

Checked out the PNC threads, and this is all I could find from Charlie’s WITB. Looks like he’s hitting a SIM2 in the Driver spot, and Dad’s legendary Scotty Newport 2. 
 

Watching the Pro-Am yesterday it looked like his irons were P760 I believe? Wedges were either the MG2’s that he used last year or potentially MG3’s?

 

And as mentioned on the PNC threads, very interesting that Charlie wasn’t wearing a single Nike swoosh anywhere. Puma shoes, and all black clothes with no discernible logo. Could be a deal in the works for the young Woods Jr?

I’m sure they’re furious. From Tiger and Charlie being decked out head-to-toe in Nike last year, to nothing on Charlie this year is a noticeable Loss for Nike.

 

Either Charlie wants to forge his own style/path different from Dad, or he’s got a deal in the pipeline. I’m sure either way Nike’s not happy.

Let's not forget that he's a kid....  I had the pleasure of meeting Lydia Ko around this same age.  The strain that the media and industry placed on her took a severe toll.  Surely, as a society, we've learned something in the past 10 years.  Hopefully????

 

When I spoke to her briefly last year, I commented on how good it was to see her smiling again.  She said it was good to feel comfortable in her own skin.  

 

Let the kid be a kid.  Just because of who his dad is, doesn't disqualify him from something that resembles a normal childhood.  Good golf swing or not.

No doubt! I just find watching Tiger and Charlie absolutely amazing because I’m around Tiger’s age and my son is Charlie’s age. Doesn’t hurt that Tiger’s the GOAT coming back from gruesome injuries that most thought would end his career (myself included), and Charlie is an incredibly talented golfer for his age!

 

It’s incredible to watch from a Golf perspective and a human perspective. But I wish nothing but the best for Charlie in whatever he chooses to do in life, same for the way I support my kids in whatever they choose to do.

A deal in the pipeline? Is he deciding to just forego amateur golf and turn pro at like 12? Has he even been old enough to compete in AJGA tournaments or anything national? Big difference between that and winning South Florida PGA section events.

There’s a recent change of USGA amateur status. Having sponsorship can remain as amateurs now.

To be fair Gentlemen, Tiger and his family put Charlie in the public eye when they allowed Charlie to play with his father last year in the PNC.

And yes, I wouldn’t at all be surprised if Charlie is already getting endorsement offers...he’s the most famous 11-12 yr old golfer in the World who also happens to be the son of the GOAT and one of the Top 5 most recognizable Athletes/people in the World.

 

Lots of kids under 15 already making Millions in this day and age, and I’m sure they are still able to enjoy some of their childhood while they count their money.
