Still gaming G400 Max?

Love my g400 max but was at the range tonight and the guy in the next bay had either a g400 or g400 lst and it sounded a lot better. That's the only thing that slightly irks me about the max, it's quite loud but I know the range balls definitely contribute to it.

Definitely can confirm this! Had the 400 MAX and was super loud got the 400 LST and the sound is a million times better! Also the feel too IMO.

Nice.  What's the blue?

That was a Simm2, both were close but that was a 9* and XB was a 10.5 so decided to order the XB in 9*.

Been gaming G400 Max 9 degree with the stock Alta cb 55 shaft since it came out. Recently went for a driver fitting and was fit into a SIM2 max with a Tensei blue AV raw 60 1 degree upright.   No shot I am giving up my G400 (and paying $500+) for the SIM2 just for some extra yardage.  That said the shaft is very appealing as it’s much more stable feeling than the Alta cb - anyone have recommendations on comparable and less expensive shafts that I can go out buy and plug into my G400 Max head?    Thanks for the help.

I'm playing the Tensei Blue AV in my 7w and really like it.  I have a Project X HZRDUS Smoke Yellow 75 in my G400, which I came from the Alta CB shaft.  There are plenty of options out there that are plug and play with this driver head.

I decided to baby mine and extended the shaft a 1/2". Now sitting at 46 1/4. I also added a Golf Pride college grip, the Florida Gators. The grip really matches the TFC 419 shaft. This shaft added yardage to my drives. It is an older shaft, but really performs for me. If anyone has a sr flex version not in use, let me know!

I have a $40 Aldila VS Proto in mine from ebay and it is performing really well.  Feel is great and dispersion and distance are what I was looking for.  I normally find the CB shafts to feel better in the Ping heads but sticking with the VS Proto right now.

The season is almost done for us here in Canada. I stuck with my G400 Max from the start of the season this year and I will stick to it for the foreseeable future. I have had some of the best drives of my life with it. And it has been really instrumental at shooting the best scores of my life. It is the reason why my GIR has increased by 15%! Instead of pitching or punching out of trees or losing golf balls, I have been having great looks at the greens this year. I wish I stuck with my first G400 Max and gave it a chance in real life rather than using it in the sim in the winter exclusively.

I also came back to some of the golf courses that I used to play before and usually I would just lay up out of fear off the tee. This season, I just used my driver 100% with no problem. Not that I did not lose golf balls in the process but this time around, it is way better.

Like many of the people here, I did test the G425 Max and I did not see much difference and decided to stick to my G400 Max.

Still swingin' the G400Max w/Alta CB 55S. I started looking for a different shaft after hitting my buddies 425 w/Tensei CK Orange S; may end up getting fit for a new shaft, will keep the MAXr.

My playing partners said the TPT made the biggest difference in my game.

Previously I tried the stock Alta, Ping Tour, Bassara 39, and other TPT Series. I gained tighter dispersion and yardage. The TPT Red is a better and more durable shaft than the first iteration - the Blue. The Red is a completely redesigned shaft. I find it's more lively than other shafts yet straighter. Waiting for the fairway prototype. I hit it several times and it really stays with you although kicking like a mule.

Hi,  Are you still gaming the TPT Red 19 Hi?   I am thinking about the TPT, but not sure which one.  I tried hitting an 18 or 19 Hi before and liked it, but cant recall if it was the 18 or 19.  Curious what your SS and tempo are, as that may help me figure out which one it might have been.  Thanks.

Just got back from a fitting with Club Champion, interesting experience when my fitter noticed that I had a g400 Max.

Basically just had me hit different driver shafts, (I was completely open to what worked) and after getting into a Accra Tour Z TZ6 65 the fitter said, "don't change the g400 head, nothing here that will perform better, just get the new shaft and you basically have a great club."

That worked for me, saved some cash and I feel great about my driver now.....

I did this and it made my G400 Max even better. I got the Tour shaft regular. I tested the Tour reg and stiff and though I was getting slightly better numbers with the stiff, I wanted the feel of the regular. I used to play the Alta CB Regular. Now it just feels like a spaghetti noodle. I now have lower spin, lower launch. Same forgiveness but longer drives.

I had gamed a 17 series in a Ping G400Max, then he put me in the 19Hi for the 425. SS about 93-98, smooth tempo. Kicks in well.

Couldn’t help myself. Ordered a Ping G400 Max again. Figured I might as well grab one as they’ll get harder to find. Will toss it again in my bag to see if the love affair comes back.

I almost bought one yesterday but it was the wrong flex and changing it would be additional. But it's up there on my list still.

Moved on to the Sim 2 at the end of last season and sold my g400max for pretty much what the sim2 cost me. That’s how in demand that thing still is.

Really liked the g400max, had a Hzrdus yellow in it and it was unbelievably forgiving. Gained a few yards with Sim2 with Ventus blue, but not much, just wanted something different. I still miss my g400max sometimes.

Thanks!   Your metrics are not too far from mine.  I have a Ping G425 now with a Fujikura Motore X F3 5S,  which I like, but always interested in trying some different shafts.  Will have to see if I can find some TPT Red Hi's to hit again.  Last time I tried it with a different driver head.
