Am I only the only one who is bothered by the CBS crew referring to players with their first names?  IBF calls Day Jason.  Nantz calls Spieth Jordan.  Imelmann called McNealy Maverick.

 

Historically it seemed it was last names or at least that’s what I’m remembering.  Was Tiger the change of the formality?

Well. It just depends.  I’m one who likes for example a doctor who gives it to me short , straight and without fluff .  I don’t like hand holding and best case scenarios told as likely outcomes. 
 

So I’d prefer a guy who would tell me straight if he disagrees. But as you said. The caveat is , he has to be rather correct rather often.  Or , correct enough that I have to do something miraculous to prove him wrong.

Also, I didn’t count, but was it really 15? Or an exaggeration for effect? I really don’t know. But they also weren’t true practice swings, looked almost a “maintain a feel” kind of deal. Who knows. 

 

Do know that it is really a shame his dad isn’t there to watch. 

It was a lot.  He stood for a long time and just made fast practice swings.  In bursts of 4-5 at a time.

The big mistake was being aggressive with the first putt. And missing the approach long, but that can be forgiven. A bogey isn't the end of the world.

I think he looked back to see if he caused any damage, didn't see anything obvious or maybe couldn't find the spot he mashed, and just left.
