Matt Jones with an opening 61...that is some good golf on that course.

Laid back Matt Jones.  Always one of my favorites.  Doesn't matter if he's shooting 61 or 81, he'll take the same amount of time to do it.  Fastest tour player I've ever seen.

I know Rick’s best wasn’t the same as Jordan’s, but is his downfall worse than? Boy, does he suck right now...

rickie was always overrated IMO. The outfits stood out and he garnered a lot of hype and fan love but I think the expectations were too high for him from the get go.

Honda is stuck in a bad place since the Tour moved the WGC from Doral.  Combined with arguably the most difficult course on the tour with lackluster facilities the big names are skipping this event.  It is a shame because the Honda and PGA National do a superb job of hosting this event.

Tuned in to watch the Honda Classic and the Puerto Rico Open broke out : )

Changed his swing. He and Pete Cowen both seem to have accepted that they went down the wrong route and are now trying to get it back. Seemed like absolute madness to try what they did when you consider Henrik’s age and the troubles that he has had before.

This field is brutal. Yikes

It really is. The Tour needs to fix this. Honda has been sponsoring this event for 40 years and they deserve better than this slot in the schedule. And with Jack and Barbara Nicklaus and their hospital foundation being the beneficiary so do they. A field this weak is a slap in the face to both groups.

It’s terrible. Looking back at 2018, the Strength of Field per the OWGR was 375. This week, it is 179. Quite the tumble down!

Scheduling is a nightmare.......with this wrap around season guys are playing so much golf that they have no choice but to overlook great venues like PGA NASH the Champ......it's ashame ......they rescheduled innisbrook after the Masters, maybe slot this in there instead

Genuinely seems like a constant balancing act. Every tournament wants a better slot so every so often the schedule is rejigged to get it. A better slot here, an elevated field there and eventually everything ends up back to where it was and the process starts all over again.

Doesn't help that it is a hard course scheduled in the windiest part of the year in Florida.  Hole 6 is designed to be a Par 5 and is played as a Par 5 on the the scorecard.  The green complex and ensuing area around is risk reward for this hole playing as a Par 5.  I don't have a problem with them playing as a Par 4, but they need to move it up.  Hole 10 is also played as a Par 5 on the Scorecard and they do move it up.  I would rather see the hole play as a Par 5.  They don't because the normal wind is out of the East which makes it a pretty easy birdie opportunity.

Many Players skip this event just because the course is hard and they don't want to play it right after the Players or right before the Master's.  The venue itself isn't great either.  Not bad, but there are courses and properties in Palm Beach much better than PGA National that also have the infrastructure to host a PGA Caliber event.

I am GenX.  If you really think I care about what you have to say, I don't.

Whats the story there? It's like he's playing junior length clubs.

Not sure. He has always had that type of stance/swing as long as he's been out on tour. It just seems really exaggerated recently.
