4 Wood Recommendations-what are you hitting?

I went from Rogue to TS2 and have been very pleased.  Couldn't really hit a 15*, but the 16.5* seems to work quite nicely, so that's why I moved from a 3W to a 4W.

In my Datrek - DG lite II cart bag attached via Top-Lok to my Bag Boy - Quad XL - I'm decidedly brand agnostic:

Titleist - TS2 4W - Graphite Design Tour AD DI 6 RS TS2 7W - Alta CB 65 R

Cobra - Baffler 23* - Aldila NV-HL 65 R

PXG - 0211 (2019 version) - 5-PW - MMT 80 S

Cleveland - CBX2 50 / 54 / 58 - Rotex

I just ordered the TS2 16.5* from DD yesterday to hopefully replace a Rogue 3 wood also. I’d love to hear more about how you’d compare the two....
I’ve never hit a 4 wood before, but I see so many online posters rave about them...and like you my Rogue has been hit and miss lately.

I'm in my tenth season of some combination of 4W + 7W.

Last summer I shifted to Rogues for both. If I choke down a half inch, I get my desired slight draw or straight ball with the 4W.

Second choice would be Tour Edge. I played the Exotics XRails (4 + 7) for about four years before switching. (Rogues give a little better distance).

For adjustable fairways, if you want a bit shorter shaft, get a Ping 5W (usually 17.5* base) and loft it down to 16.5*.

concerned this will close the face too much. Looking for other recommendations on what others have hit with a square face in 4 wood loft.

A shorter shaft (club won't rock back on heel at address) and delofting 5W a degree will open face slightly. Both will help prevent hooks.

Have a Titleist TS2 16.5* in the bag currently and it is likely to stay.  Got to try a friends TSi2 4wd out the other day and found them to be not worth the money to "upgrade".  I still want to try a TSi3 4wd out as that may get me to change.  But have no issues with the TS2 currently.

I agree with all of this.  Really happy with ts2 16.5.  I hit the tsi2 and preferred it but not enough to be worth upgrading.  Numbers were very similar but I liked the sound of the tsi better.  Especially because I’m not sure exactly how I want to configure that part of my bag.  If I was op I would definitely be hitting the the tsi2 and tsi3 16.5’s.
I recently picked up a sim 15 degree and it is a really good fit for me.  I believe the sim2 max is  available in a 3hl.   I would definitely want to hit that before making a decision.

Get a sim 5w and turn it to 17*.

i tried a buddys setup like this the other day. Love the flight and how anti left it is.

I have a high swing speed and this thing is an absolute cannon.

I have a ts3 5w that I play at 17.25 that is a monster as well.

The SIM Ti 5w turned all the way down is what I was going to recommend as well.
Had one with a Ventus Black 9X and stupidly sold it.  Currently in the process of recreating it.  Best fairway I’ve ever had.

Maverick 4 wood with Riptide 7.  May trade for Epic Speed since I can get a 50% trade in bonus. However not sure it’s worth the upgrade.  Anyone hit the Epic Speed 4 wood?

I have it with a AD TP 8s. It’s a bomber and easy to launch, but i cant get past how awesome the TSi feels.

I have been carrying a Titleist 16.5' TS2 4wd with Ventus Velocore Red 7 series 71g "S".   I have always been partial to 4wd heads and hit it nearly as far as 15' 3wd.   However, that may be changing.

The Speed is the one I’m mainly interested in, along with the Sim2 5 wood dialed down. Speed shape looks real nice from address. I’ve yet to hit it but I seem to hit all the Callaway fairwoods well and the contrasting silver face is another plus.

I have had my Aeroburner "3HL" (it's a 16.5 degree 4 wood if it is honest) forever. I am replacing virtually every club in my bag this year except it. It's my favorite club ever. It is almost point and shoot for me.

Ordered a Callaway Speed 4 wood and got rid of the 3 & 5 woods. Might add a 3 iron to the bag if there is seems to be a need. I rarely used the 5 wood and the APEX 21 4 iron goes as far and for now is more predictable.

I have the Aeroburner driver, 3hl & 5hl and have no desire to part with any of them. As u said point and shoot even the driver.

Just picked up a Callaway Rogue 4 wood. It was pretty cheap, under $100 in "well used" condition.

Grabbed it as an experiment. I have been playing driver/three wood/three hybrid, but had upped the loft on my Epic Flash three wood to 17* anyway.

Went through his myself over the last couple seasons.

Depends on if you want a bomber or consistency, tee or decks shots.

My buds both use the M2 3hl (16.5) as they use it for both tee and off the deck. Definitely longer than what I play.

I use mine mainly off the deck and went Ping 400 5 wood turned down and this year have gone to the 425 5 wood at 16.5 flat. Like it better than the older version as it feels more solid (less hallow sounding), larger sweet spot and longer.

Used it the other day to reach an uphill, into the 2 club wind on a cold day 610 yard par 5. Don't ask about the 3 putt ...........:(
