Next Generation T100S -- Hollow Body

Recommended Posts

10 hours ago, Mox52 said:

Oh man, I was late too the T100S party as I got a new set at the end of 2020.  Love the current ones that are out, but a cleaner look on the back would be nice.  Wonder if they will do an all black option like on the current T100S.

It's pretty much a guarantee that Titleist will release a black version ~9-12 months later to boost lagging sales. Seems to be their answer to the longer release cycles.

I'm not sure when Titleist will provide additional information.  I was told they're still working to make sure the sound is the same as last year's, non-hollow-body iron.  Initial reactions were that it was slightly harder sounding, but Titleist recognized it and are addressing.  I was told the last step was to send the near-finalized iron to Aaron Dill, who was going to be working on the sole of this iron.

I was excited about the new Apex Pros but was seriously let down by the feel.  However, Titleist is working hard to make this hollow-bodied iron feel the same as the current T100.  Based on the testing they've done, from a look and feel standpoint, most testers couldn't tell the difference between the new T100S and last years from a feel, sound, and looks at address perspective.

Titleist is going to sell a ton of these irons!

Well I know what my next iron set is gonna be

Makes me glad I have the T100S they have now. Never gotten much success from a hollow body. Plus I prefer the one piece (ish) feel. Been looking hard at the Wilson Staff CB anyway although I do really like my T100S.

Same - I was super excited to give them a go and was totally let down. X forged CB were miles better to me both in stats, look and most definitely feel.

Now, the TCBs? Ordered a set on the spot. Hoh. Lee. Heck. They're incredible.

Crazy to think they are making new irons or have new ones coming out when no one can keep up with producing what's needed for these long wait times. I would be interested in the t100 seeing them in the store the other day. But by the time I get them, then something new comes out and I am already late to the game.

I am telling you that 718 T-MB are they best irons I have played with in a long time!  I have been through a ton of irons and I found a set for a decent price here in Japan and love them, the feel is great and the ball jumps off the face.

only issue is the brown color.  If anyone knows a good way to get it off please PM me.

I find this extremely hard to believe as Titleist always does a fall release for new irons and most of their main product cycles. I would speculate that we are in store for the normal late summer fall release.

I hear people favor 716 over 718 tmb. I have a 716 tmb 4 iron and it's amazing. I used fine sandpaper to remove the brown finish

I have not heard anything about this. Unless this is a one off mid season offering and not a line renewal this would be very odd timing from Titleist.

Yah, sorry, this doesn't really make sense to me as the T100 is the most popular iron they have. The T100 has near traditional lofts bc of Speith and tour guys using them. The T100S was created to keep the same look with stronger lofts to for us mere mortals, and to blend with the T200 sets better.

I can believe that they are making improvements or have a new prototype for the hollow, players distance (blade look), but will it be labeled T100 or T100S as part of the AP2 heritage? I don't see that happening since they have irons in that spot now. The T200 (AP3) was created for the hollow/player's distance iron category.  They could definitely make strides with the T200, I see tons of them in bags, but also tons in used racks.

Just my $0.02...

I’ve heard refresh coming early summer from someone well connected to Titleist. Could be wrong though. Looking forward to pics!

I don't think you're too wrong, maybe mid summer.  Remember Titleist usually does it in stages, they will do tour seeding and publicize the iron around the British Open time but not release full details until about 4 to 6 weeks later.   I would suspect these will hit retail in mid September with a pre order of late August.   That's pure assumption base do prior releases.

Not really, TS hybrids were released the same time as the previous generation irons, TSi hybrids are already released.  This is just to move up to meet demand of new clubs, this is called running business when the demand is high.  Moving it up from September to May/June is only a few months and catches the entire summer.  Makes total sense to me.

Maybe, These OEM just dont typically change their schedules. Especially when a launch is going to be a disaster due to back order of every component.

I don't disagree, but they have already changed their schedule for the hybrids this year, TSi drivers came out later than usual so another schedule changed.

Also, it might be easer in their supply chain to have new products vs old.  You never know where they are sourcing the materials.

I thought they were right on schedule. Hybrids and utilities have always been a sperate release from them. At least I think they have.. lol

No, since the 816 model hybrids they came out same time as irons (fall time), the opposite year of woods.  This year they released hybrids good 6-7 months earlier than before.
