That was my point without saying it. I have a nephew who has serious autism and is A LOT to handle. It’s not even on the same page at all. Him and bubba might have anxieties but if you think they’re anywhere near a “spectrum” you have no experience with the real deal.

It is however interesting all the ways it can manifest. Severe cases like your nephew to otherwise high functioning adults. My partner works with lots of these sorts of kids as an occupational therapist and its fascinating how much they can vary and frustrating that we still understand relatively little about it.

Did you hate Michael Jordan?

actually the fact he barely shook cantlays hand, stormed off the green and didn’t do an interview pretty much sums it up. What a classless tool.

Why does he need to do an interview? Do you know for a fact that NBC was trying to get an interview with him? I know they were like an hour and a half over their coverage window by the time it ended.
The questions they ask are usually stupid anyway and if he did do the interview the same people complaining he didn’t do the interview would be complaining he’s taking attention away from the winner.

It just seems like it’s become a catch all for every kind of behavioral problem. It’s like every kid who’s full of energy running around like a manic has ADD or ADHD when I was a kid it was just being a kid who’s a bit hyperactive ha

I can pretty much assure you that after that NBC would want to interview him. by that time it was on the Golf Channel where they would want to interview Bryson after he exited a porta potty. Is that a serious question or are you actually Naomi Osaka? 🙄

Yeah, and no one cares what the first loser has to say in response to stupid questions from stupid people like Jimmy Roberts or Amanda Balionis.

Bryson, what were you feeling out there on the 6th playoff hole? How’d you feel when you saw that ball bounce into the hazard on the 4th playoff hole? Who cares? I wouldn’t speak to the lying media either if I were any of these guys.

Well, clearly someone does, since every golf telecast has someone doing exactly that job. TV networks don't pay people for doing stuff that viewers don't want to see. In fact, someone saying what you posted might be branded with the same adjective you used to describe Balionis or Roberts. In that case they might be correct, unlike you.

I don't think anyone has mentioned this yet:

https://www.espn.com/golf/story/_/id/32111377/nothing-bryson-dechambeau-experience-easy-days

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Bryson DeChambeau was steaming.

He had just missed a birdie putt that brought an end to one of the most memorable playoffs the PGA Tour has seen in recent years, and understandably, he wanted to get away. From everyone. The roars for Patrick Cantlay, Sunday's winner of the BMW Championship, were still ringing out as DeChambeau ducked into the tunnel that cuts beneath the 18th hole grandstands. DeChambeau handed his hat to a gleeful adolescent fan standing at the rope line, then began a furious but silent walk up the steep hill that winds its way toward the Caves Valley clubhouse.

Halfway up the hill, something happened that made me feel like we've arrived at a miserable place in the never-ending circus that is DeChambeau. A patron waited until DeChambeau had walked by, but was not out of earshot, then sneered from over the rope line, "Great job, Brooksie!" DeChambeau spun around in a rage and began briefly walking in his direction.

"You know what? Get the f--- out!" DeChambeau yelled. He had rage in his eyes.

I'm being dead serious when I say it could have gotten ugly really fast. Maybe not "Malice at the Palace" bad, but in that moment, nothing would've surprised me. A rope line is little more than a polite suggestion when it comes to security at a golf tournament. DeChambeau had been hearing, and ignoring, that kind of taunt all week. But everyone has their breaking point.

Thankfully, DeChambeau paused, angrily motioning for a police officer to handle the heckler, then continued his march up the hill. The entire exchange took less than 10 seconds. The PGA Tour declined comment when asked about the incident by ESPN. But we've been building to something like this all summer. And I don't know what the endgame is. <more>

I don't mind Bryson at all. In fact, I do enjoy watching him play. I like when he hits great shots and massive drives. I love that he attempts nearly every impossible shot. I also like when he goes "Be right!" and it ends up three clubs short. Can he be an a******, absolutely. Does he have a lot to work on as a person, absolutely. Is there also good in him, absolutely. Have we learned from the past that that flawed characters usually get better as they age?

I used to despise Bubba. Now, I'm a big fan. It took him a LONG time to understand that it's OK to be vulnerable. Wolff found out recently, and great for him at a young age so he's not battling it like so many others, and I'm sure most on here still do even as we've gotten on in years. Bryson hasn't reached that point yet. I hope he does, and I think he will. Hell, it took Tiger until the far end of his career to understand that.

We seem to forget sometimes that professional athletes don't grow up the way most of us have and one can say that their development as 'people' is stunted because of it. Their real world is far different that our real world and they have a lot of people making decisions, big decisions, for them since a very young age.

None of that is an excuse for poor behavior, but it happens. With some, it happens more that others. That's not an excuse, it's an understanding and that's the reality of life. What we can hope for, for the people who we deem as having poor character, is they continue to realize they make mistakes, they're not perfect, and find ways to become better for it. Bryson has a ways to go, he has made strides, but he has some more work, and I hope he continues to progress for himself first, his family when he has one, and selfishly, for the game of golf.

You have to be a special kind of a****** to heckle someone at a golf tournament.

It's too bad Bryson didn't clock the guy. Idiots like that 100% deserve to be knocked out.

I’m shocked that Bryson cursed. Whoa. Hopefully the clubhouse has chocolate milk so he can gather his rage.

and yes whoever said that should be beaten into a pulp of actual mashed potatoes IMO

That’s not true. Unless something has changed in the last few years, the PGA Tour does not require players to do post round interviews. So it’s actually not part of his or any other players job as you stated.

I like Bryson more and more, thought he was gonna win and was pulling for him.  The second time on 18 ppl yelling, walks off, regroups and sticks one.  Misses the putt, keeps clawing back.  Was epic.  I'd be mad too and wouldn't want to talk to anyone.  As far as people calling him brooksy and stuff.. Now days people think they can do the same stuff in real life as behind a keyboard and call people names and expect no consequences.  Guess what, welcome to the real world.  The fan gets a pass and keyboard warriors will say look see bryson is a** or whatever.  People need a reality check from time to time.  Glad he didn't throw hands or anything but hopefully that fan learned a little respect if that espn story is true.  No harm done either way, he lost.  He'll get over it.

What’s the punishment for the fan though? There is none. He got a reaction and “clout” from his buddies and social media and the tournament was over so if he got thrown out he was leaving anyway.

not on paper - but those who dodge interviews are usually viewed in a negative light -- not good for their 'brand'.

you're a professional -- act like one. this goes for bryson, this goes for brooks, this goes for anyone acting like a fool for a click, like, etc.

Who gives a damn if everyone heckles Bryson. He brought it on himself. He can easily make it stop by just laughing at it because it really is just dumb.

Athletes in other sports really get heckled. Like actual, personal stuff being yelled at them. Not someone calling them brooksie.
