Anyone Have An Idea of What TM’s Driver Plans Are for 2022?

I love the dead ‘thud’ sound a carbon fiber driver makes…. F9. Should be even better.

This will be an INCREDIBLE year for Taylormade in the woods line.....

My Goodness!

You guys will love what's coming....not traditional, to be sure

What does the bottom of the driver look like? Is the inertia generator gone or did they keep it?

Are the fairways made with the same heavy carbon construction? Vsteel sole.still?

I'd expect the shape to be very close to the sim, and the vsteel sole should remain.

Again, it's total conjecture but the premise is pretty cool.

But it's also still centered around a story and not performance. Cor limits haven't changed. And the idea of infusing steel with carbon simply allows TM to get more weight out of the face and into the sole. What will that mean for launch and spin? What will it mean for moi?

This will be this year's  super cool driver. But I don't think we'll see major improvements in any area. Probably greater consistency in spin regardless of strike location and maybe greater consistency in ballspeed across the face (tho both sim lines were really good there).

Moveable weight is back.

This design should allow TM to get the CoG really close to the neutral access. So far, the cobra ltd has been the closest a driver has come. TM could encroach on that here. But I doubt they do it until sthl 3. They have to run small increments of improvement...

But, again, if I'm right about the manufacturing process, then TM  has pulled innovation from another industry into golf.

Two things that were noticeable to me on hitting it were a total difference of feel.  And obviously this is from a carbon face compared to an alloy face.  I loved the feel by the way.  And the trajectory was lower.  Now it may have been shaft related.  But man the ball was carrying.  Fitting into this head may be a little different.  Also the rep mentioned that the COR testing on this driver will be different?

saw the new stuff this week from TM. The hype will be real. Tour pro's who tested it had very positive reactions. Save up your bottle and can money over the winter. Nice leap in technology. Can't spoil the specs and features, i'll let TM release that stuff, but I was impressed. Doubled my 2022 driver order for the shop compared to sim last year.

Im sure TM has this base covered, at least I hope.  I cannot imagine them releasing a new tech/higher priced driver that sounds like sh$&

From the TwistFace trip the TM lab folks mentioned that there is quite a bit of testing and research that goes into the ideal sound. Obv, sometimes they miss the mark, but they will definitely get it as close to "ideal" as possible.

Correct.  CT testing on this one.  I have no idea how it differs, truth be told

Is the non max a shallow face like OG sim or is it taller like sim2?

CT testing has been used on drivers since 2004. It's not new. COR testing is used on all other clubs. This article explains the difference between CT and COR.

Will they all be 460cc or will TM have a smaller headed one in the lineup too?

Exactly my question too.  Something to replace the M5 Tour!

Callaway's early review success with the Apex UW fairway metals should give TaylorMade a thought balloon.

They have the 300 series compact driver on the shelves.

Maybe market it with Apex UW type compact fairways?

Has anyone seen the 2022 bags and colours? In need of a new bag and wondering if the Flextech lites will be getting new colourways

I was just in my local store.  Evidently TM is doing some sort of a colab with a popular bag designer on a super cool stand bag.  It is going to be cool but pricey.  That’s all the info I was able to pull from them though.
