Bettinardi BB 2022 Release?

I know, but Scotty Cameron now being the more affordable option is certainly something. The Scotty will hold its value more for when you’re tired of it too. I think Bettinardi is in for a rude awakening if they think people are willing to pay more for one of their OTR putters over Scotty.

Fair, but I'll be (pleasantly) surprised if the next SC line (presumably releasing in the spring, maybe some leaks before then, but likely starting marketing in January at the PGA show) isn't priced at ~$450.

Bummed the 8.0 is not all a single color and doesn't have the same aggressive flymill on the face as the BB series

The Inovai line has never been 1 color unless it was the Blackout edition. Plus being an innovation line they often go with the milling with the most tech.

Now Hive versions of the 8.0 they have different face milling.

That may be true but the best Hexperimental versions of the 8.0 were all a single color IMO.  I'm definitely going to give it a roll and if I like the feel I'll just have to have it refinished somewhere.

Count me in the side of a big "nope".  As a lefty I am extremely POd to still see one option only.  Good god, it's 2022.  Everything goes through a CNC machine.  You click "mirror image" and go.  I get the less sales for lefty, but maybe, just maybe give some options and see what happens.  Or make 10% of them in each model for lefty folks, and when they sell out they are unavailable.  No one can give me good reasons why not to make both dexterities these days.

And the price increase and change to stainless is not a selling point.  I would take a Scotty at less price any day of the week., and have adjustable weights.

And hold much more value over the years

I am biased as a fellow lefty but I agree! It seems like it would take minimal effort to accommodate the inverse design for each putter. Even if it were a special order situation where lefty heads are only available from Betti directly with a longer lead time and a reasonable price premium.

Instead, even at $2,500+ for a custom putter the left handed models are extremely limited.

It is, I like a wide blade but I don't like those stubby wide blades.

Is the paint smudged on the bottom or just water?

I love it. That putter looks better than any Spider I’ve seen. Modern and elegant. It is interesting that there has been a change with more designs moving weight to the front of the putter. I like those as I seem to get better speed control.

Any reviews of the new bb line?

Answering my own question, I got to compare a blackout 2022 BB1 at the store and compared it to the older one. Big caveat, both had a small plastic film, though you could definitely tell the older one had a bit of a higher pitched feeling than the new one. The newer one sure is pretty, though I don't know if the blackout color is the same as the otr version coming out in a few months. Not a huge amount of difference between the two, really like the new design but don't know if it's worth the $100+ upcharge.

I've been waiting for Bettinardi to make the Inovai 6.0 putters just slightly smaller than the previous years, and it looks like they have. $400 isn't bad but I'd like to test out first. I might just send by old QB8 putter out to a shop to get a neck adjustment for more toe hang.

What really supprises me is the charge Bettinardi does on the Hive putters. Want it custom from the Hive...that's $2500 minimum!. Why wouldn't I just buy the putter for $400 and send it out to a specialty shop to do what I want...Even if I spend $2000 at a shop I'd still be ahead of the game.

the only reasoning i have for this is the material selection, and face milling. otherwise yes, you'd be "ahead of the game".

Bump, how are people liking the 2022 BB line? I have a chance to buy a blackout BB1 for a discount, how does the paint seem to be holding up?

Can only provide a little insight as I’ve only had my BB46 for about 3 weeks. Previously had the Agera and Spider X. Since switching to the BB, I’ve only had one round where my SG putting compared to a 0 was negative. Most importantly for me, my SG inside 10 feet has really improved.

Cosmetics wise it seems to be fine with my biggest complaint being it smudges easy (not a big issue) and the headcover for the mid mallet is clearly just the blade headcover, which isn’t the best fit

I just picked up a 2022 BB-8W and I love it.  I previously owned a DASS BB-5 and this is my 2nd Betti to date.  I’m coming from Scotty Squarebacks are my regular gamers so I kinda knew what I was in for with this.  2 rounds with the putter so far and I’ve really been putting well.  I got it new, for under the retail price and I’m very happy with it.  I did not like the jumbo Sink Fit that it came with, so that got pulled and replaced before I gamed it.

This will probably take over for the Laguna in my walking bag.  My cart bag has the Squareback 2 in it.

Any noticeable difference to the Scotty Squareback 2?

My current gamer is a customized (black oxide from BOS) Special Select Squareback 2 that I love but I'm also a ho for putters and looking for excuses to but together similar setups to use whenever I want to mix it up a bit.

To be perfectly honest, they are very very similar and that’s what I was looking for.  What I notice the most is the head weight - my Scotty is a 360 gram head and the Betti is a 350 gram head.  I play both at 33.5” (the Scotty was a factory 33” that I added 1/2” to and the Betti was a factory 33.5”).  They are also almost identical as to toe hang.

I regularly switch between 2 different bags and club sets depending on if I’m walking or riding.  The Scotty is in my cart bag and the Betti is in my carry bag.

I hadn't had any experience with this line until trying the BB46 today. Really love the single bend shaft bending close to the head and the slight toe hang. I was really rolling it well. The price is steep but they can definitely be had now for well less than retail.

I tested some putters today (SIK, Ping, Edel...) and the Bettinardi was my favorite of the bunch.  All the putter I tested were blade style to fit my stroke.  I really liked the clean dull matte finish on the BB and the feel was best for my taste - not firm, not soft, just right.  The specific model I was using was BB8W.

I rolled Toulon for a couple years before getting my current Odyssey, and the BB reminded me of that non insert solid responsive feel.  The size was very close to the Toulon Chicago I played previously, but the BB8W has a little more toe hang.
