I hate to rain on the parade, but I honestly doubt Tiger plays at this years Masters. I can’t think of too many courses that would be worse to make a comeback at in terms of how taxing the walk is. Hopefully I’m wrong.

I’ll chime in and say that the odds of anyone competing in the Masters so soon after sustaining the injuries Tiger did are insurmountable. But, yeah, it’s TW.

well if he is walking medalist with his caddie he is preparing for something. Sounds crazy for the masters but he is preparing for something, whether its the par 3 or actual tournament.

He is clearly is seeing if he can play next week. There is no other reason to fly your caddie in for a just a weekend round. If he was 100% out he would have already said so. I still think odds are that Tiger won't be able to, but he's is definitely giving it a shot.

No way would he be going through all of this just for the Par 3 contest.  I hope he tees it up.

I said it in another thread. It’s a total lottery play. His age is limiting his future attempts and his very best chance at #16 is always gonna be Augusta. Early play will determine continuation or a marked WD. Make the cut and stay within 6-8 of the lead come Fri night, he’ll play on as his body allows. If not, he’ll dip out. This is a no-brainer for him. Play well, walk well, continue, but play crappy and quit.

He might not even play practice rounds at all, does he really need them there??? I say no, and most will probably agree. Could Tiger get a cart for practice, never even thought about that!?!?

I'd love to see him play, even have him film himself riding around his home course, lol, or feeding the dogs.

 

But, he isn't playing the Masters next Thursday.  Not sure why the fact he and his caddie get together means he's entering a tournament any time soon.  Tiger may be planning for an event in June or July or just getting in some good work and seeing Joey up close and personal.  

 

Happy to eat my words, haha, but I'm saying there's a chance . . . zero!

I could totally see this. Playing a round and WDing doesn't hurt him. He may even play Medalist today and decide he can't do Augusta. I'd assume that having a goal to work towards probably helps him with his practice and recovery too, instead of just having an open ended "I'll play when I feel better" type of situation.

The committee is currently researching the rules to see if Tiger can be moved around the course in a rickshaw between shots.

I honestly think he's officially listed as in the field only to participate in the Par 3 tourney with Charlie and then will withdraw after.

Or maybe he gives it a go on Thursday to see how he feels. But I don't expect much from him...
