If Tiger gets the driver working and hitting fairways, watch out. Everything in his game looks solid except for the driver.

Watched the entire round (Tiger's) and he's now at a huge disadvantage with his lack of length.   Couldn't seem to get the approach shots on the green.  Chipping for one putt pars isn't going to bode well for him.

Still amazed he is even out there.

Gonna be interesting to see how soon the injury pain fatigue sets in today.  I know from experience it's a cumulative thing.  Hope it's recoverable for him over four days of golf.  Yeah, he's gonna make the cut.

I have no insider info, but having carried a bag around Augusta National a few times, I would be shocked to see him play this year.  That course is brutal on the calves for even a healthy human.  I wouldn't want to walk that course for 4 days with half the injuries he's had.  IMHO, the only course worse on the legs than ANGC was Greenbrier.

St. Andrews is much flatter, but can be cold and raw.  That is almost as rough on arthritic joints as up and down terrain.

LOL

I'll admit I'm surprised to see him there. But then again he's Tiger and he has access to the best medical professionals in the world.

Aaron Rodgers should take note--- it doesn't come from Joe Rogan... LMAO!

Yup.  I was clearly wrong.  Still surprised, but wrong.

You made a prediction based on your personal knowledge of walking the entire course.  Nothing wrong with that type of insight and it's certainly better than the wild speculation of others.  Anyway if he doesn't make it all 4 rounds then you're original speculation would be validated.  It wouldn't be the first time that Tiger pushed himself too hard and caused injury.

Tiger is half Thai, so he could get patrons to carry him around the course between shots like the Thai king, right?

Haha that's a good one!

Honestly I was thinking, is there any rule that would prevent LaCava from giving him a piggyback ride around the course if need be?

He’s hitting it plenty far. 170-175 ball speed with the driver today and carrying it almost 300.

Because Ben won six majors after doctors said he might not walk again, I put Ben at #2 ahead of Tiger by a hair.

That’s a good one!🤣

My response from 6 months ago that you replied to was based on a few posts….well many over the years….saying JacK>Tiger BECAUSE 18>15.  End of story.  Funny thing is after they settle the #1 vs #2 story that way they get Hogan #3 EVEN THOUGH Hagen has more majors.

But at the end of your career no one cares about broken bones when determining the best.  And yet you have 64(of which at least 8 would not have counted in Tigers era as they were team events) with 9 majors somehow…miraculously apparently….being better than 82 with 15?

Exactly!  Driver distance is not the issue right, it’s the missed putts that is hurting him.

Maybe Tiger should skip the ice bath tonight and go play some putt-putt tonight. I even found a great place in Augusta. for him

Missed quite a few putts today in the range of 7-12 feet. Only made one putt outside 5 feet, which was the 8 footer at the 14th hole. That said, I think his chipping is not sharp enough. Some of these chip shots that end up 7-10 feet, those need to be more like 3-5 feet. Would make it a lot easier to convert the putts.

Then there is the iron game. Only 50% GIR in the first two rounds. Overall you have to say there is plenty of rust in his game, but it will be interesting to see if he can improve on some of these things over the weekend. The GIR stat in particular seems like one that he might be able to get more dialed in.

Kind of interesting to go through some of the posts in this thread back to Wednesday or so especially about Tiger's gait and his play. It's nothing new as he had issues with it since 2018 before his crash last year. And yet people are treating his walking like it's a new issue. 🤨  Same with his lack of distance. 🙄

The above said has the issue he suffered a setback after the PNC event in December been mentioned on air? Came across this article today (Friday) on Yahoo as it was aggregated from The Telegraph in the UK by writer James Corrigan.

https://sports.yahoo.com/medics-ranked-tiger-woods-masters-192334232.html

Telegraph Sport has learned that Woods, 46, encountered “a setback” following his appearance in the PGA Tour’s father-and-child event in late December and the after-effects he suffered convinced his medics that playing here in the season’s opening major was “unthinkable”.

A source said: “He played great with Charlie in Florida [they finished second] but his right leg reacted badly afterwards and that was concerning because Tiger used a buggy in that two-day event. The effects he suffered meant that nobody close to him gave him a prayer of, just a few months later, teeing it up at Augusta.”

Interesting.
