Anything new with Srixon 2022

Photo doesn’t show bottom of club but I’ll assume they are 7 irons as that is what reps typically take around. He said Jan release. Zx5 looks very much the same though I didn’t do a direct comparison. Looks like some tungsten at bottom of rear near the sole.  Says mainframe on back of club. Zx7 seems to take a few more elements of the zx5 design and perhaps has more forgiveness. Says pureframe on the back. Sorry, I’m not the best at describing the elements and I only have the rear view. No sole or top line shot. I would imagine this will leak soon. Will post tomorrow if he says ok

I would be a little irritated if the ZX7 is more orientated towards the ZX5. If anything it should be otherwise.

 

Hope we will see them soon. Just ordered a Set of fresh ZX7. But who knows, this is WRX

I can’t tell if it’s a shadow but there may be some trailing edge relief in zx5. Certainly looks like a refinement of what is already 2 great sets of irons. Not a significant redesign

I don’t think zx7 will disappoint. Still looks like solid one piece. Just the general aesthetic of the cavity matches zx5. Zx7 head looks to be shorter than zx5

Really would like to know if there is going to be an update to the Z Forged? Perhaps a ZX9?

 

Z Forged have been out since Feb 2019 (3 and a half years). I know there really isn't a whole bunch that they can do to improve upon blades from a performance perspective, but with the other iron changes in their iron line-up, their blades are due for a refresh and it would be awesome if they made it fit nicer with their other offerings.

I am firmly on Srixon staff player watch now with the PGA and DPWT coverage to try and see if any pros have these new iterations in the bay. ZX7 the best feeling iron I’ve ever hit but couldn’t get a set here in England for love nor money in my spec, asst pro at my club was even a Srixon staffer. They had major inventory issues distributing to the UK which sucked!

I have two sets of ZX7 in 7i-PW and don’t intend to upgrade unless the new set washes my ball and tips the beer cart.  There is nothing they can do to meaningfully improve the performance characteristics for my game/idiosyncrasies and I like the look/feel enough I won’t change simply for aesthetics.

 

However, …. if ZX-Next has an ‘A’ (gap) wedge that matches the set as opposed to being an orphan b@$tard child of a one night stand between the ZX7 and Z-Forged, I may get one.  When I bag a I 50-52 degree club, it’s basically an 11 iron (sees no greenside use) so I’d prefer it match my irons for the most part.

They make amazing forged irons, but then is a cast Cleveland wedge...

With regards to the ZX7 cavity matching the ZX5, does it have a plastic insert/medallion like the ZX5 or is it still solid metal?

I just saw the 2023 irons and wedges. They look nice.  Similar to what they look now.  They’ve added some more mass behind the irons  the Cleveland wedges they’re claim to fame is gonna be they don’t lose spin when wet.  Some new water channel groove.  They look similar to what’s out now but nice.

I am very on the fence of purchasing or waiting after getting fit the ZX7's with X100 shafts were amazing and I feel the need to spend some money but with the new lineup on the way I'm just twiddling my thumbs.

Visually do the irons and wedges blend together (have a similar look)? 
 

On the same token, do the zx5 and zx7 now blend with the blade for looks?

The irons look almost identical to what they look like now.  All Cad designed and similar with more weight in the center back of club.  Rep said they blend better than they do now.   He kept saying hold off until March when they release to get fit.  The wedges looked nice.  Similar to what they look like now though.  All talk on how water flows off the face keeping the spin up when wet.

If I were waiting on the next design vs buying the current line I’d be most focused on whether or not they stick with the Endo forgery.

It seems like all roads leading back to my current ZX 7 &5's are safe for a few years just like the the 45's were.
