Seriously though, it's not the norm - some Japanese are, you know, crazy enough with new / novel ideas (I leave those to your imagination 😉 But it's certainly not necessarily the norm like sake, soy sauce (Japanese, of course), and bento (box)

Soo Ji Yang. She played on the KLPGA for years. She was the KLPGA rookie of the year in 2009. She played in a couple of LPGA majors early in her career.

The PGA pros play for their current Sentry purse.

The women play for the $1.5M purse from Hilton...but only the previous LPGA year's winners qualify.

In the current state, it would take all of 4 nano seconds for Beth Ann Nichols and Christine Brennan and their ilk to get up on their equal pay soapbox.  Sentry would walk away from that in a heartbeat.  

 

If an event was created from scratch you could deal with stuff like that.  But existing events... (in my best star trek character accent-I forget who it was) "It's a trap".  Logic and facts don't matter when those two get on their soapbox for their pet causes.

In this format, I'm not surprised.  When it comes to Sunday, playing for all the marbles, its best to stick to normal practice meaning threesomes of LPGA players . . . though, Annika is no mere "celebrity" and will definitely hold her own and may even surprise!

When a guy from the Bachelor is one of your “celebrities”, it might be time to rethink this tournaments format!  😳 Let the ladies play and stand on their own. Just like with the PGA and the PB pro-am. At this point it just feels like they are in the way.
