As for me... I have a few that served me very well. But I'd say the clubs that started my entire club obsession were. The 1990's version of the Wilson harmonized wedges.

Were they great for me? No.

But as an entree point into what makes golf clubs work or not work so well for me they served perfectly. And very specifically they led me to look for wedges that I dug less with.

I'm still holding on to a couple of 588 49º SP's and 691 52º's as my 2 fav PW and GW's ever.

Someone already mentioned the OG Eye2 L Wedge and for me the PM Grind 60 I just can't quit. I get along with others, have gamed Vokey, MacDaddy's, old school Wilsons and even have a lovely Miura K grind 60 but nothing can replace the ugly beauty of the PM. I have both the 17 and 19 (bit more bounce in 19, slightly different grind).

 

It just opens up and so well in the rough up in the north east and makes 15y and less bunker shots a blast (yuk yuk)

Ping G2 5 wood.  I know that's an oddball to have a fairway wood in there first, but I still have never hit any club as consistently as I hit that one.  Was great off the deck and I could could count on it to always find the fairway off the tee when I lost control of my driver.  That club had the longest run of any I've ever owned, though my current putter will pass it this year (guess which is number 2 on the list).

Burner 2.0 rescue 3H. Bought it because it was cheap as I was just starting to golf. Helped me in so many situations and I learned to hit normal shots, high soft landing shots, and low line drives if I needed it. It really was a do everything club for me between 160-200 yards. I retired it last year but I don't want to really sell it.

I would induct my Cleveland 588 53* Diadic wedge. Hit countless range balls working on a 3/4, 100 yard shot... I literally built my entire golf game around learning to hit that club consistently. It still has the smallest wear mark of any club I’ve owned, and I knew if I had that club in my hand I was throwing a dart (whether I actually did, results may vary)... It was a sad day for me when those became non-conforming. But the Diadic rests proudly in the HOF!

my current p wedge, made my first hole in one w it on saturday. before,,, i would have said one of the clubs from my $300 package set my parents got me when I was 11, its what introduced me to golf.

I'm going to take this a little different direction....here is my HOF bag set. 

Driver -  TM R9 SuperTri - 8.5 with Aldila RIP Alpha 80 Tour XX - THE BLACK STICK OF DEATH

Putter - Ping Anser WRX TI Pixel - The one putter no matter how bad I rolled it, I knew that thing had magic.  I swapped putters like socks for 20+ years but that one never got sold. ever.

Irons - Hogan 1988 APEX Redlines - had a set with shaft pins and DGX100's. Looking at them now, they were ugly as sin but back when I was playing a TON, they were butter and just on top of the world feel wise. 

Hybrid - Nike Slingshot Tour 2I with a DGX100 - I still have this, it will NEVER be sold..it stayed in bed with me the night before my first professional tournament out of college. 

Wedges - Taylormade RAC Black Original - 52,56,60 with FM Precision Spinners. 

Bag - Original PING L8 in Maroon

Ball - Maxfli A-10

And I couldn't agree more with the OP about the 53 degree 588 diadic. First rusty wedge I had and I absolutely loved it. Also subsequently had a gunmetal one that I paired with a 58 degree 588 tour grind that was unbelievably good. Played them for years and still think they're as good as anything I've ever tried.

Driver- Callaway Diablo Tour (got it at the old Callaway Superstore in Vegas on a work trip and shipped it home. Felt like such a boss... Lasted a solid 4-5 years in the bag)

I guess I've been lucky  with clubs I've loved, but once it was in my bag, my Tuttle putter was there for good. I've gone from loathing and sucking at putting to making do with a 4-iron to finding a cheap blade I got pretty good with to putting being the best part of my game.
