Which would you game, Chrome or raw.

I have 2 sets of Vega VC-03 irons. One is chrome plated, the other is raw. My shaft of choice is currently in the chrome (Steelfiber 110cw), but hav3 been curious to try them in the raw set. All other things being equal, would you play the raw or the chrome?

I have wedges in raw, they’re fine. Irons need to be shiny!

Those raw VC-03s look awesome.     I have a VG-10 and VG-06 in raw that come out to play every once in a while.  

 

There's something primal about raw irons and wedges.

I like a raw finish. I’ve had raw wedges in the past that I enjoyed playing. Between those two particular irons though I’d go chrome. Those look perfect.

Haha I guess raw is the popular choice😂 I’d prefer the raw ones but sometimes I have trouble aiming the raw irons properly. It’s almost like the raw kind of dulls out the lines of the iron and doesn’t stand out enough to me. Being nit picky, especially since I play a full set of raw lol but I notice it sometimes.

Perhaps I am a contrarian, perhaps I am practical but I would keep using the chrome. You already have the shafts in and you are already are using them on the reg. 

 

Don't get me wrong, I am not sure a wrong answer exists, but I think there is some validity to using the same clubs for an extended period of time if they fit.

And paint fill the bottom groove (white or red). Aiming problem solved.

Raw.  I enjoy the aesthetics of the rusted over look, and on sunny days it does cut some glare.

I had a set of the original Nike blades in a raw finish from my time on staff with them, picked them up from the Oven. LOVED the look of the raw finish, especially once it started rusting over and I could see a formal wear spot, I just felt so much more like a pro bc of it. I never got the paint fill done, kinda wish I had...and really wish I had kept those clubs, they were MONEY.

Rule of thumb: Chrome is king.

In this case play your raw heads are bad Word not allowed play those.

Either full shiny chrome or raw. I'm not a fan of that specific satin chrome for some reason. I would try to keep the faces on the raw pretty clean, though. Having a shiny sweet spot wear mark on a raw club is the way to go imo. I don't like the full-on brown rust look.

I go raw with my wedges, and may for my next set of irons. However I don't let the rust up as they are. I always clean them super well and hit them with some gun blue. They start off as black as any of the PVD irons, but then really start to take on a great blackish-dark brown patina over time.

I love raw so much, I had my Miura TC-201s stripped to raw!

Chrome will hold up better under normal play and I prefer the look better than raw.
