Like BSC said, yes we do refer to the US Open as the Open. 

 

Seems in the UK they also used to refer to it as the British Open.

Faxon interviewed with Dan Patrick this morning.  His insight into the tour is unique and still relevant because of role as putting coach for current players.  Indicated he was getting ready for a GC segment on the unique short game challenges at Southern Hills this weekend.

 

 

I'm with you bajadock. I think Faxon is one of the best to have behind the mic on a golf telecast.  Thanks for sharing his interview on the DP show.

I think this course sets up good for Tiger. I counted 8 par 4's that were playing 450 yards or less. Both par 5s are 600+ yards beasts from the tips (not a fan of that TBH), so those will be 3-shot holes for a big portion of the field. I think Tiger can think his way around this course and just take what it gives him.
