Agreed, although I liked the shallower F4 as a 5-wood, but definitely preferred the F2 for the 3-wood.

Haha thanks. My bag hasn't changed in the 5 years since. The only things I might want to change (other than new wedges for fresh grooves) are my driver and 3 wood shaft. Ever since I snapped my Rogue Black 80X on the 18th at East Lake more than 4 years ago, I've struggled to find a good replacement. I swap between a Diamana LTD D+ 80X and B-Series 80X but don't love either. My 915D3 is fine but it's 8 years old now so I could probably get some better performance from something newer.

 

If I had an unlimited budget, I'd probably build a new set as:

TSR3 9* Ventus Blue 6X tipped 1/2"

TSR3 15* Ventus Blue 7X

TSR3 18* Ventus Blue 8X

T100 4 iron TI X100

620MB 5-9 TI X100

SM9 46F TI X100

SM9 52F, 56D, 60M TI S400

Newport 2 Special Select 35"

Someone said something about a Callaway engineer coming over to Titleist for this release, not sure if that is accurate or if I am remembering correctly. Callaway has used a face cup and no channel/slot in their fairways and they are as good performing as any. There does look to be a little thin channel on the woods that to me looks like it could be outlining a face cup design, but not sure if it is just cosmetic. Don't take any of this as insider knowledge, pure guessing.

Even if that is the case, I'm sure there are IP and patents in place that would prohibt using any Callaway technology...which IMO is a great thing as I have yet to find a Callaway driver I liked and love the TSi line.   But I get what your saying just someone bringing a fresh set of eyes and that may have thoughts and ideas that aren't protected legally is never a bad thing to have on board.

I love my tsi3, but given it looks almost identical to the R3, I think I’ll try the 2 or 4 this time. They all look great though.

THankfully the whole cupface concept has been around for ages and has been used across a bunch of brands. That leads me to believe that surely it wouldn't be new to Titleist, but I won't pretend I know about the engineering ins and outs to say anything beyond that.

 I'm pretty sure that somebody posted that they'll be delayed by a few months like they were with the TSis.

 

Woods came out in November and hybrids followed in February I think.

I think early March was before Tiger showed up with them. I just needed some Narrows and it took forever.

Staff fitting confirmed in August.  It's likely that the Titleist website will be updated with specs, stock shafts, and pictures before then, but if not, I will do my best to remember everything they throw at me at the fitting and report back.
