Those of you going with 16.5 degree fairway heads ... are you sticking with Titleist's new 43" length on them, or going with the 42.5" that Titleist has done on previous 4 woods? Or something different? And what was your thought process?

same 3-wood length, want a little bit less distance and more height so went 16.5

I ordered mine 42.5” swingweigth D2.

It doesn’t make any sense they went to 43” again. This will make the heads too light and to put all that extra weight in only the weight itself is not optimal.

I’ve been using Titleist fw4 42.5” @ 15.75* in C1 for +10 years. It’s money.

Ordered mine 1/2 short to match my tsi2. Keeping my Ventus black shaft I already have but wanted to make sure the weight was adjusted.

If you adjust the length and request a specific swing weight, how do they achieve that? Do they put a non-stock weight in?

I agree with you.  I have found the TSR2 be just as forgiving as long.   But just from watching mikes shots the TSR did seem to have the widest one left at 15 yards and a 16 yard right I think.  so maybe that total of 31 yards dispersion factoredi in.  The Stealth for example was only about 6 to 8 yards off center on most of his shots.

But every shot with the TSR2 (and most of the drivers to be honest) were all playable.    But the TSR defiitely shined in distance and ball speed.

Watch the TXG video of Mike working with Martin Chuck and you will see how Mike misses right.

Just weighed the TSR2 head vs my STZ220 - 194 and 198 respectively.

when I Demod the tsr with the 1k black, I certainly didn't have trouble feeling where the head was, but with the ADUB6s, I really struggled. Could the headweight be a part of the issue ?

I know my Ping G410 was 205g and I'm not sure what my TSr2 is, but assuming like 195g.

I'm having a HUGE issue feeling where the head is. I'm going to give it the rest of the year and then dome range time during the off season and hopefully get used to it.

I like golf. A lot.

I ordered mine 42.5" at D4 swing weight. I am hopeful Titleist will make these specs right for me, we will see.

Had the TSR2 in the bag now for 3 rounds and very much prefer it over the TSi2 I had before. A lot more solid feeling and sounding and also the shaft seems to be a better fit for me.

For me the cost of moving from the TSi2 to the TSR2 has been worth it.

I also ordered a TSR2 16.5 shortened. Except I went with 42”. I have an Epic Max 5W (18*) that I liked, but it won’t fit my gaps as well anymore. That one I play 1” short as well (41.75”).

Since I have the TSR2+ coming in, my 220 yard short 18* 5W won’t keep up. So my idea to get some extra length in my next club was the 16.5 (set to 17.25) at 42”. The lower loft will get me a bit extra yardage (with fiddling room on loft), and the extra .25” should help a bit too. Plus I expect the TSR2 will spin slightly less than the Epic Max, so I estimate that equation will get me 8-10 yards which should be perfect.

Plus, I have a lot better control with a shorter fairway shaft. Win-win!

Maybe they see a lot of people playing the 16.5 as a more lofted version of a 15 and that's why they did it. It's not like irons where people would have a 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 wood so does length really matter vs what the person hits best?

Managed to get my TSR2 out on the course for the first time yesterday. With being on holiday and what not, I hadn't played for a couple of weeks and I decided to stick with the Tensei 1K Black as opposed to popping my old Even Flow White shaft in there.

Cannot say enough good things about the TSR2! Absolutely blown away by the performance right across the clubface. It was pretty cold with us yesterday morning. We had a gusty wind to contend with and it has been so wet that whilst it was not a case of drop and stop off the tee, it wasn't far of it. Good hits with my TSR2 were great. The poor strikes, were incredible. So so forgiving which in turn made me feel that I could go at it harder than I would have done with my TS3. Getting summer distance on a cold, damp autumn day has me incredibly excited for this club.

I totally can't wait. Got mine last week, but then (in the northeast) the freaking hurricane remnants hit. It is now Tuesday night and it literally has not stopped raining since Sunday morning. Almost beyond belief frustrating to have a new club with a new custom shaft sitting in my office and staring at me saying "why aren't you hitting me?" (Hee hee). My golf club is taunting me.

On the bright side, Saturday and Sunday are supposed to be low 60s and sunny. So I just b****-slapped my Driver and told it to be patient (Drivers are much like children, you have to establish who is in charge).

For those that have hit the TSR2 fairways, is the sole more like the ts2 or tsi2? For some reason the turf interaction on the ts2 is way better for me than the tsi2.

why does 1.5 degrees of loft require a shorter shaft?

It seems odd that they have them all at 43" and the 16.5 is the only one with a more upright lie angle.  It would make sense that it would be 42.5 with that change in lie angle.

Blind guess here, but quite plausible the 13, 13.5, 15 and 16.5 heads are the same weight (+/- tolerance) and that’s what’s driving the same shaft length so they can result in similar stock SW values.
