It could just be me but I’m starting to think the TSr2 16.5* may get to cult status. I’ve never hit a better fairway wood. Just got on a LM today and I’m carrying the 16.5* within 5-10 yards of the 2+. Totally different flight and probably 20 more yards of runout on the 2+ but that 4 wood is so solid, can draw it or cut it on command and just launches so easy without spinning up too much.

Finally snagged a Titleist fitting that has been sold out 3 times already and got the last spot in the 4th demo day.  Been leaning tsr3 but interested to try some non stock shaft offerings next week.

What shaft do you have in the 16.5?   I’m looking at picking up a 4w.

Very much a possibility. I gained about 10 yards of carry with it over my tsi2 16.5 and the tsi2 should be cult status. I’ve got to add some head weight to my tsr2 to match my tsi2. It’s about 6g lighter in the head so I’m still bagging my tsi until I get a heavier weight in there

I have been playing the RDX black in my driver, pretty much since release, is the new gen HZRDUS pretty similar?

I'm back to the 1K Black that came in it. I tried a Ventus TR Red and hated it. On to the BST with it soon. I played Ventus Black in all of my woods for the past 2 years so it makes sense and is going to turn out to be an expensive experiment.

yeah 16.5 with blue TR is a weapon for me, exactly what I was looking for.

Are you playing the 2+ and 16.5...you setting them both at standard loft.  What are you playing after the 16.5, if you don't mind.  Thanks.

Just ordered a Tsr2 8 degree off the bay. Knowing full well it won’t be significantly better than my current tsi3…

Play both at A1. I carry them both but can swap out depending on the needs.

I’m an idiot.

I like mine a lot more than my TSi3. It’s significantly straighter and just as long as the 3. It’s more forgiving on miss hits for sure. I found the tsi3 to have a big right miss for me. TSR2 just goes straight, not seeing any lefts in it. These observations are coming using exact same shaft in each

I wasn’t the person you asked this question to, but I’ll chime in my answer. 
 

I play the 2+ at std loft and std length. I play the 16.5 at 17.25 right now, cut 1” short (playing 42”). I might loft up to 18 if I want to drop my carry yardage a bit. 
 

I have both in my bag at the same time. My next longest club is the U505 4 at 22*. 
 

I elected to go with the 16.5 head instead of the actual 18 head for two reasons: 1. I felt the slightly larger head size at my desired loft would add some forgiveness, and 2. I liked the loft options of 15.75-18 better than 17.25-19.5. The lower loft combination (paired with shorter shaft) is more comfortable for me to hit my yardage gap between 2+ and 4U.

FWIW, I have found the same with the tsi3, particularly when I’m not swinging well.

Just side note got fit for the TSR3 - 3wood Wednesday got shipping notice this morning. It should be here Monday….damn quick!!! 
I did end up getting fit in a stock shaft setup but with a different grip. Either way very pleased I get to use it for fall ball in UNY!!

Ah. Played it for almost a year. Loved everything about that club except....

 

It had a spot on the face where it would spin up like crazy. I'd carry it 250 over and over and then hit a good one and have it carry like 235. It's what sent me on a 3w journey.

 

Let me (us) know how the tsr3 stacks up to the stz. That stz was just incredibly easy to hit and flew straight. So I'm really interested in what you see.

We hosted a Fitting Day at my course this week.  Out of 5 appointments.  4 walked out with a 16.5  2 in TSR2 and 2 in TSR 3.    Oh snd tbe 4th?  He was there for T100s irons!

so from what I’m getting, no one likes the no up charge shaft options?

I thought the tensei 1k black could be a good option but a lot of members are not liking it?

how are people getting on with the hzurds black 4g?

 

looking to pick up a tsr 3 but I don’t want to spend so much on an up charge shaft :’(

I’ve got the HZRDUS Red CB in 6.0 and it’s done better than a GD IZ I had in my TSi.

I got the 1k black and like it. I tried the upcharge shafts and the 1k gave me the best results. Got to get fit

So far I’m liking the 1k black, coming from tsi3 9 with tensei white to the tsr2 with the black, feel is similar and the more forgiving/higher launching head makes up for any extra stiffness in the shaft. Like for like I’m better able to launch higher shots as needed. 
 

i’m a major fan of the tensei white and have it in 3 wood and hybrid also, but will possibly go with the black in all the new ones.

Played my 2nd round with TSR2 with tensei blue. Continue to be impressed . Tried a tour ad IZ in it today as well and it also performed but didn’t notice a huge difference. Finding it so easy to find the center of the face. Almost want to get a TSR3 to see how that goes since this is sooo good. Can’t wait for my fairway to come in
