He uses the TSR4 with the heavy weight in the rear.  That being the case it does have higher spin.  I can verify that!  Put that heavy weight forward and it is very low spin...more than the TSR3...I have both heads and have hit them back and forth on the range.

Which one are you liking so far, if you can pick one over the other right now? Are you finding the 4 as forgiving or close to it as the 3?

I just got my TSR4 8 coming from TSi3 9 and was very much in need of spin reduction based on my swing.

Looks like the 1k Black is being sold at retail for $350 ? Kind of makes me like it better now 😆

Not really. Mostly $80 on ebay. No one buys the made-for shafts at retail, really.

I am trying to have two setups....one low launch and one mid/high launch.

Still working on both my TSR4, 8* set down to 7.25* with a variety of shafts in the running.

The TSR3, 9*, set at 9* works very well with both the TR Blue, 65x and Kaili Blue, 6TX.

So, at this time I plan to keep both for these reasons.  TSR3 is kinda stupid easy to hit as I want.  TSR4 takes a bit more work due to the loft...working on shot shape with it for control.

FYI I’m only 98 mph SS and TSR2 11* is 300-400 less rpm compared to my TSi2 11* with same shaft.  Had 2 sessions on a GC-Quad with similar results.  Was able to borrow the TSR2 head for a round and did hit a few career drives by 3-5 yards, and one by 7-8 yards.  Worth the upgrade price for me 👍

At least on Wrx there seems to be very few that have the Hzrdus shafts?  Why is that?  Is it because they are stock with no upcharge? Lol.  They seem to fall in the “Meh” camp.

I happen to Love the Hzrdus shaft. For my swing it feels amazing. Im

coming from the Tensei White.. I had a lot of really solid drives with the Tensei but to me the feel is night and day for the better.

So has this been confirmed that it’s a made for shaft?  I get it’s not the “pro” version of the 1k line but everything I’ve read indicates it’s the real deal shaft.

Everything is called a “real deal shaft” nowadays because the companies got smart and released the same shaft line that was made in quantity for a specific club maker into retail making it look like it’s a retail shaft.

Im not saying it’s bad or cheap it’s just more of a ‘don’t lie to me’ scenario. The shafts are being made with huge quantity orders for these club makers in mind and THEN released as a retail part for whatever price.

I remember ppl here got so excited when 913d came with 'real deal' for first time. It started or broke the old trend.

I think it is a real deal and a not lie to me scenario. I think they went about making a stouter 1k with different materials than the white 1k which has a “smoother” feel based on those said materials. Pretty sure that’s what mca said, I’d have to go back and check but I understand what you’re saying based on past history

To me real deal shaft means made in Japan in a small shop using high grade materials not mass produced in a sweat shop in China or Taiwan.

Curious - with the Titleist Surefit adapter, does turning it down (e.g. from A1 to C1 which is a -0.75* loft) open the face at all?

So I scooped up a TSR3 16.5⁰ 4 wood and paired it with a ventus tr blue 8X tipped 1.5". I love this club. I love it so much that I scooped up a tsr2 21⁰ to go with it. I'm going to put in a ventus tr blue 8x to match but I'm curious if i should tip it 1.5" or go with 2". Either way I am a big fan of this line of woods.

Anyone playing the TSR4 with success at a lower swing speed (105ish)?

I can’t stand the shape and size of most modern heads, still stuck on a 2016 Callaway GBB.

I go 1.5” on my Ventus black 8x in my 3 wood and 1.75” on my Ventus black 9x in my 7 wood (both TSI2) for reference.

Same for me, biggest improvement I've found with the TSR3 vs the Stealth Plus driver has been the stability on toe shots. I basically live around the T1 weight spot on the R3 and I'm not getting the knuckle ball left going left toe shots that I was getting w/ the Stealth+.

I'm really excited to try the TSR3 to see if it can knock out my Stealth Plus. The TSi3 was not able to keep up with it, but hopefully the consistency will give the TM a run for its money. The Stealth can be a little wild left to right but it makes up for that in spades in terms of launch and spin consistency for me. I ordered mine at 9.0 with the 1K Black 75TX, with my ZF 70TX ready to go to see if I can find a winning combo.

As tempting as it is reading the rave reviews on the fairways, thankfully I'm in love with my TSi2 3w/5w and know better than to get rid of good fairway woods.

Yeah.  Mine is around 105. Using any of autoflex 505x, ping tour 65x and ventus black 5x.  Works good - not terribly different from the TSI4 for me.  The 3.5 setting is pretty nifty though.

ooofff...I just tested the TSR3. Mishits low in the head were punished and produced super high spin numbers.

That's what the TSR3 is supposed to do.  If you hit the same spot regularly, you can adjust the weight to move the sweet spot closer to that impact point, to maximize ball speed and lessen spin if that spot is off-center. But when you miss, the spin #s will jump in comparison to the TSR2.

What? Having spin spike when you miss doesn't seem like a design feature most OEMs would opt for lol.  I will also add that when I tested the TSR2 vs the TSR3, the 2 was producing some absolutely awful spin numbers for me.  Pretty much the opposite of what you're describing.
