They can call it or characterize it whatever they want, doesn't really matter IMO. The 0317 T will have the goo and will be the MB in the line along with the current ST and CB.  Who knows what the final design will look like, but we should see for sure by late summer from what I have been told.

It may be then that the former 0311T will become the 0317 MB with the long irons hollow heads and the mid/short irons as a more muscle back type iron different than the ST blades.

Cant wait to see that line!

I have visions of an 0317 driver. But I don’t know if that really fits with their strategy.

No option for Steelfiber Private Reserve with the Xtreme Dark irons. Anybody know if it’s an option with fitters?

There will be a driver, fairways & hybrids line release later this year from what I hear. Think of the old i15, i20 & i25 series from Ping as the example of differences in playability between the lines.

That’s kinda what I was guessing at, but I thought they stated they were aiming to simplify the models?
 

Most of the other OEMs have variations of their driver rather than separate lines. Ping, as you mentioned, had ‘i’ and ‘G’ in woods/hybrids but they simplified. Titleist have done it very cleverly with four wood ranges but the general public see them as four variations of TSr. 
 

Maybe many ‘players’ just aren’t taking their stuff seriously, so they feel they need to have a specific line, like their version of TP? I mean, they’re even listing them as ‘0317 Players’.

 

Hope whatever they’re trying works, they deserve some more credibility. Does kinda put me off buying anything (apart from 5-9 CB) until everything is out though.

Just ordered the Private reserve in 110-s from the fitter. This is the only way to order it according to my fitter.

Really hoping for a 3rd option as the CBs still seem a little more demanding than the T irons I've played for the last 4 generations. Personally holding off until we know more.

Thinking about just getting a set and getting the T 4i maybe 5i if I want it. Too temping!

Question is, will the new T be the same as the old one? The P seems to have moved towards the T a little, has the T possibly moved towards ST? Surely if there were no changes to the T it’d have launched with the P and XP?

 

From what’s been mentioned in this thread, it sounds like it could be going towards a ‘Tour Distance’ type club rather than ‘Players Distance’. 
 

I was thinking of a Gen6 P 4 iron to go with CB 5-9, but then maybe T would be a better fit, or maybe it could be more demanding than the CB?
 

I can’t believe the CBs are finally out and I’m still undecided. I want to spend money!

Just sharing what I learned today. This is a bit all encompassing. 
 

They originally reached out to make sure I was aware of these and see if I wanted to order, so I of course had some questions.

 

Q: So there is no T in the future?

A: As of right now no, obviously things could change in the future…. 
Interpretation: Guessing that’s a yes for the T in the future but with PXG - who knows. 
 

He did tell me the Gen 6 P line is smaller than previous Gens in terms of sole size being closer to the Gen 5 T, but still longer blade length than the Ts. 

Q: Is the sole width of the CB smaller than that of the Gen 5 T?

A: No - if anything, slightly larger than the Ts with more bounce. 
 

I went back and checked the bounce listed on the website and there is more in the CB irons and more offset. That seems like an odd decision to me but I’m sure they have their own reasons. 
 

Not totally sold on these but could consider the combo with the ST in the scoring irons.

Dude I cannot agree more. I was so against PXG from the start with their snobby attitude, high ridiculous pricing and half of their gear was so fugly.

 

But these look so good and I have heard nothing but amazing things from buds using the ST's previous versions. 

 

I am looking forward to someday owning a set!
