A bit of a hodgepodge. I don’t know what this is supposed to be. 🤷‍♂️

 

There’s just an awful lot going on here — aesthetically and mechanically.

 

But Ping have done this in the past and it’s worked Ok (e.g., Ping i, S55) so I won’t completely dismiss them. Especially if this is a true forged iron, and not some piecemeal/forged-in-places design.

They may have started it all, but in all seriousness this screw trend is getting out of control.  New Apexes, Ping, p790/770, Edel SMS, Cobra Forged Tec.  I know they all serve a purpose, but I can't wait until equipment makers engineer a more aesthetically pleasing solution.  

 

That said, I am interested to learn more about these irons.

This one looks like a size I would game. The last ones were too tiny for me. Any idea what I could compare these too?

I definitely should have phrased that different! My entire bag is PING except my putter (they don't make 47" putters these days!) - the best part of MY game might be that all my clubs look great! 🤣

Don’t understand the little shiny area on back. Should be like rest of iron which I like. If a little smaller than S55 then I’m really looking forward to trying. Sad that forged and will be $$$$$

Call me an outlier, I think these are pretty ugly from an Industrial Design perspective.
 

I230, Iblade and S55 look more modern + cleaner for some reason in my eyes? Maybe the minimalistic style is more my vibe. As a ping guy these don’t really look like the normally clean cavity err towards on players clubs.  
 

If they share the same DNA as those two, however, they’ll probably play and feel fantastic!

Ping is a pretty polarizing set of irons for me. My favorite of their sets is the ISI, arguably their most wonky. I go back and play them months at time when I want to hit good shots and have good thoughts/memories. I played the S55 for a summer, but they were not all-time garage keepers for me. 

I’m a TM 2005 RAC and currently Nike VR Pro Combo guy now. I’d love for Ping to throw out there a thin, shiny combo set. Until then, I think I’m leaving the huge offset and satin finish to the Pingsters.

So basically a forged version of my faithful i210 and most likely they will cost twice the price of my i210. They do look nice and I am sure they will feel great, but performance wise I doubt any difference than my i210.

Normally it's the heel notch, the toe weights and the fact that the long irons look like the scoring area has been moved heelward that bother me when it comes to modern Ping irons, but in this case it's the unnecessary polished area on the back.

So my thoughts:

 

This might be the first ping Iron in a LONG time that would get serious consideration. Looks like a blended set with slot and tpu in long/mid irons, which i like, but smaller than i230. They are FORGED, which is also a plus. I hated all the pings feel with exception to the blueprint. A bit bigger than the blueprints, which were one of the smaller blades out there. My only dislike is the chrome strip. 
 

Solid 9/10. Oh, wait im sure these will be hella expensive, so 8/10.

There will 2 blueprint models, i believe this is the larger one that is more of an I59 replacement.

Much much better.  Their design seems dated on this one for some reason.  Unnecessary noise in the cavity that I would have expected to see in an iron from 10-15 years ago.  This cleaned up version looks way better.  Kind of reminds me of the King CB like this.  And that's a good thing. 

 

Otherwise, it's a Ping forging, soooooo it will be priced way above its competition and not really justify the increased price to me as it will likely match performance at best.  If it looked better I would give it a try.  But, there is too many good options in this space that look way better.  Maybe it's petty, but whatever.  I do appreciate some nice bag appeal.

The marketing excuse must be "visible tech". Because the area where it says forged....just looks cartoonish, and not at all classy.
