Buyer Wants to Return Item

When I first messaged him back, I mentioned he has my address on label when I shipped it. I have heard back saying he was returning it and I have already received an email from UPS with a tracking number. I mentioned previously that he needed to insure it. Didn’t get a reply yet so hope he did. 

If shaft returns safely I will go ahead and refund him even though I probably shouldn’t. I would never ask myself but to each his own. Thanks again for responding. BTW, I see some usernames I have dealt with in the past. I may be reaching out to return some clubs I bought years ago. Lol. Problem is I am sure I have passed them on. Also I will have a nice Tour AD driver shaft with TM tip in R flex if anyone is interested.

Just a heads up, you will be out the PayPal fees you originally paid on the initial transaction.  You will also be out whatever you paid to ship the shaft.  I would only give a partial refund equal to the original sale amount minus the original fees and shipping.  Below is a direct quote from PayPal.

 

“You can refund the entire amount of a transaction or portions of it.

The default refund period is 180 days from the transaction date. If you refund a payment for goods or services, there are no fees to process the refund, but the fees you originally paid as the seller are not returned to you. The amount of the refunded payment will be deducted from your PayPal account.”

I would do a pretty detailed inspection to make sure (1) it's not broken and (2) it's the same shaft you sent to the buyer.

Maybe they have changed. I thought PP reversed fees but maybe not. I believe in what goes around comes around. Most members here have gone out of their way in deals I have had. So if I’m out a little so be it. I just wasn’t going to pay for return shipping. Just another example of how things are changing and what people expect I guess.

So a follow up question for the group after reading this fiasco...

 

Is there a way to block users on this forum platform directly, to block an incoming message from specific accounts? Or do I simply have to create a manual list that I refer to as buyers message me?

 

Ideally, the Feedback ratings help solve this issue in general but I know there is some nuance to this.

If it arrived as it was described and he just didn’t like it or it didn’t fit him it’s on him. He can resell it. Or use it as a tomato stake for that matter.

yeah, I like his reply to the guy selling the left dot Pro V1's  "$380 for three dozen golf balls?".  What difference does it make to him.  the seller's price was fair based on what the balls were going for on other markets .  even if the price wasn't fair, it is the seller's prerogative.

Use the drop down menu off your User ID on the top right. Select SETTINGS/Ignored Uers.
