Causes for concern:

definitely the driver. I’ve broken 3 stealth 2+ faces this year so this one is going to break at some point. Rule a. Will definitely be invoked sometime this year, the IQ10 looks like the logical replacement.

 

Prediction:

The bag will be entirely different at the end of the year 😂

I can’t yet, I mean I think I’m set. But not all of the new 2024 releases are anywhere near being out. I’m pretty set on my ball marker, not the pitch repair tool though. Well, maybe, but the single prong copper ones look damn nice. My tee is set for sure. Western Birch. Otherwise I’ll be back in March … to post my failed bag.

My bag is set for 2024 (I hope). If I were to make a change I would guess it would be by June 1st before I get into my local tournaments.

I was there a couple years ago... Could've probably outfitted a bad golf team. 

 

Only have 2 full sets now. Could probably piece together a 3rd bag if I really wanted to.

My bag is basically set as is, with one potential change. I want to pick up an L flex lightweight driver shaft to  try as an Autoflex clone. If it doesn't work out, I'm perfectly fine as is.

As someone who won't get on the course until April myself, that's why the stipulate first golf ACTIVITY. Roll a putt on a putting machine on the first, try a club in the store, go to indoor range, you're challenge starts there. At least, that's how I view it.

 

I'm choosing to be prudent at this point as I hope to take the month remaining in 2024 to dial in some clubs. Hopefully the amount of money I've had to drop on my car, and being a little loose with the hoing this year will give me a chance. I'm going to wait until 2024 to post my bag though to give myself a chance.

Isn't it pretty early to start listing for 2024 bag challenge. I may have posted earlier as  I'm pretty happy with my equipment as everything is pretty new as the only thing I see is maybe adding the new Cobra DarkSpeed Driver but my 50th Anniversary Aerojet isn't leaving either. If switching off from one to the other is not allowed count me out then.

Context: Oregon guy who will fit in 2-3 out/back trips to Bandon (w/ offsite lodging). I’m a driving iron HO off the tee when firm/windy — but Oregon courses are generally soft outside of Bandon. And, I can make it work with 4i + 5w — just feels less fun.

 

Pics + specs later when I settle Risk 1. Bag makeup will otherwise be: D, 3W, 4-P, 50, 54, 60, p.

 

 

Definitely agree it’s early. But because it’s testing season, thought it would be fun to post that last test for club #14.

While I tend to agree in theory, and understand product cycles and early in the calendar year release dates, I have to kindly say no to the "on order" addendum.  Having presided over this merry band of miscreants for 10+ years now, I know just how much a WRX'er will go down the "slippery slope" and so I have to just have a hard line here.  What's in the bag is what's in the bag, ya know?

Great question and one that I haven't heard in 10 years of BISC!  Here's how I see it: If the demo day/testing sesh/etc. is your first golfing activity of the year, then it "sets" your bag per the OG rules.  It sucks but thems the rules as they say. 

 

BUT.......you can demo day/testing sesh/etc. as often as you want with as many clubs as you want throughout the year, AS LONG AS THE CLUBS IN YOUR BAG REMAIN CONSTANT FOR YOUR ROUNDS (REAL OR SIM) OF GOLF.  Not sure why you would want to tempt yourself that way, but hey, you do you, right?

Here's how I see it @Dan Drake @Mych @cardoustie you give me the "ruling"...

 

Some of us (like myself) golf season ended early November and I won't "golf" until sometime in Spring...usually mid to late March depends how the winter goes, its been as late as April in the past.  Having said that, I consider my "Golf Season" to start the very 1st time I hit the actual Golf Course for my 1st round of the year.  Where I live there's not an indoor facility to do simulator golf and isn't a spot within a 1.5 hr. drive to demo clubs so any "testing" would be me hitting into my net in the back yard. The only "testing" would be driving up or down to one of those locations to hit clubs, etc....but once the 1st round hits, then that's the bag.  Is that correct how you all see it?  1st round on course or simulator round?

Idk. I've changed more than 1 thing every year for the last 5 or 6. But I'm bound to not change putters since changing them has proven to be a detriment. I just got the s2+ 2 months ago so there's no need for new there.

 

But a new batch of OEM 3ws are coming...

Do people really stick to the rules, so when people say they haven't bought anything new because they have 3-4 difference sets of clubs with umpteen driver and putters and haven't bought anything new for the whole year can they say they made it. Is there somewhere in the rules that would disqualify them. I would like to see who has bought the most drivers or set of irons/ putters in one year, now that would be a challenge to. I'm considered out as I'm probably going to buy the Cobra DarkSpeed driver as soon as they are released but on certain days I'm pulling out the Aerojet just because I like it that much.
