What ball do you play?

I've changed so much for various reasons, thought I stuck at the end of last year but now with multiple ball changes it's time for a ball search again for me.

Current Tested/Played Options:

* Left Dash

* Z-Star XV

* ProV1

Balls I'm going to seriously test:

* Chrome Tour

* Tour B X

* TP5X

Balls I might test:

* Wilson Staff Model

* AVX

I liked the Left Dash but just flies too high, loved the Chrome Soft XLS but no longer made and so-so cover at times. The new Chrome Tour might just be a plug and play but with 3 new balls from Callaway, Bridgestone and TaylorMade I have to test them all.

Wilson Staff Tour and Triads are my jam. Triad feels really good and depending on how firm a course is, if I need more spin, I'll go with the Tour balls.

Loving the left dash but I just bought a box of Maxifli Tours after all the reviews I hear. Played the regular pro v1 for a long time but wanted a higher launching ball with similar low spin, and hoping the maxifli is a good alternative, especially in the winter days.

I hover between Oncore VeroX1, Maxfli Tour & TM Tour Response. I have been known to try a lot of different brands but I am not willing to pay $55 for ProV1's. There is absolutely nothing to gain by me playing a ProV1 over the aforementioned brands I generally play. The Maxfli Tours can be found for $25-30 per dozen. Just can't beat that for a ball that performs as well as other tour balls. Not sure if I've ever seen a bad review of it.

I'm 70+ years old, don't have a HC, but if I did it'd be about 100+  But I want to be better, and I "dress for the job I want."  I use KZG Forged Evolution irons, and Titleist DT So/Lo balls I get from [-bay].

No, they're not tour balls, but they're longer than most others I've tried, and Iose less of them.

Chrome Soft X LS. Love love love their ability to turn mishits that would be slices into slight fades. The LS has saved me so many times off the tee.

I just wish it had a little more action on approach shots. It's the one ball I've played that stays within 3" of wherever it lands. It doesn't backspin, it doesn't leak out, it just.....stops lol Where ever it lands thats exactly where your ball stays at.

I played the left dash for the past two years but found a fitter that was very good and found out it was the wrong ball for me.

Tested the following...

left dash

ProV1

ProV1X

Chorme Tour

Chrome Tour X

Srixon ZStar Diamond

Srixon XV

Came away with the ProV1x and it wasn't really close so that is the new ball for the season.

I will say it was amazing to learn through the fitting what different balls did and see how different balls reacted to similar strikes.

I've moved onto the CTX for this year.  Cally's best ball by far.  However, I still have a couple boxes of left dash, a few boxes of Pro Plus and a box of '24 TP5x that I need to go through, lol.

ProV1x.

It shouldn’t work on paper, but it just works on the golf course.

I dappled with the z star diamond last season and depending on what my v1x inventory is looking like around Father’s Day I might pick some up on BOGO deal to last me the rest of the season.

ProV1X and then Diamond....anything else and I'm not serious

Wow, a thread on BALLS! How unique! 😛

I keed...I keed...

These threads help the forum keep moving, so I'm a fan.

I play the Vice Pro in various colors (love the green and shade, but also have some white logo balls printed for some guys at church) and the Pro V1--especially yellow, but I have a number of standard white as well.

I have enough golf balls in weathertight storage that I'm going to be able to make it well past the roll-back of the roll-back sometime down the line. 🤣

NO GOLF BALL performs for me in every way as well as the 2020-2023 Wilson Staff Model.  They are LONG AF, Low driver ball flight, mid iron ball flight, and super high green-side spin.

They also happened to destroy all of the name brands in robot testing for people who are 100+ MPH or 115+ MPH with driver.  You can view this extremely thorough and detailed testing here:

I have found many buy three dozen for $100 type deals on these and always stock up

This is how I feel with the Wilson Triads.

The new Wilson Tour ball is an absolute sleeper. I haven't been able to play a round with it yet, but in the sim it's consistently 300RPM lower spin than the MaxFli Tour off the driver.

Been playing Pro V1 for years. Tested the tp5 and tp5x against it today. Wasn’t impressed to much with tp5, seems fine, compatible to the pro v1 in feel, maybe a little more spin.

tp5x on the other hand. Very impressive, strong flight, not at all ballooning even into the wind. Was very surprised by the greenside control. Was able to play low back foot chips with my 58 that I was able to check and control spin just like the pro v1.

The solid feel off the driver, seems like a little more distance, combined with the short game control. Made it through the entire round with the same ball. Very little wear, good durability.

Going with the 2024 tp5x this year, was able to order the 4 for 3 deal when I got home.

I mean, everything is basically TBD... 🙂
