We always discuss best irons if all time. How bout driver? I dont think its been brought up in my memory?

For me personally. I have had some amazing driving rounds with callaway mavrik standard at 9 degrees. Im talking maybe 14 15 fairways possibly. No slices no hooks. If anything barely in the rough which i dont mind rough shots mostly. Distance and accuracy. Two best scores ever with it. Not sure anything else has come close.

I think it's the Great Big Bertha. It changed how people approached the tee shot and therefore the game. Everything nice then has just been refinement of the idea and use of new materials.

Yeah but there has to be a goat for you out of them. One you just felt like you couldnt miss. For example. One time with my mavrik standard i took aim at a tree on a short par 4 thru a narrow area to drive it thru.. when i tell you the ball didnt move a inch off the spot i was looking at.. it was unbelievable. That was after 3 other holes of drivering it where i wanted. When im on with that driver there seems to be no missing. Two lowest scores from that driver and a certain putter so it really goes to show there is a best combination for everyone.

My first best of all time was a TM R5, then it was a Cleveland Hibore XLS.

 

Now it's Tour Edge Exotics E722.  Hit it anywhere on the face and the ball is going to be almost as good as a sweet spot strike.  I'm not sure what kind of pixie dust is in it but it's really forgiving, iirc the moi is 5600 with the stock weight.

I don't ever recall a driver being as unanimously hyped as the G400 Max from the 22 hcp to the 2 hcp golfer. Thats gotta be it.

G400 seems to be a winner. The new ping10k max seems similar. Also qi10k. Guess we will know in a few years.
