I did NOT buy a putter, fortunately!

 

The Eleven S I bought earlier this summer has been nice but I could NOT adjust to the White Hot insert. My lag putting was poor and I didn't feel like I was getting enough feedback. 

 

Instead of paying $600+ for  Toulon LeMans I went the spry-evo route and ordered a milled aluminum insert from him. The added weight of the metal insert should also bring the putter head weight up to the range I like. For now it's back to my Gen2 PXG Closer which has been surprisingly great over the last three seasons.

How the heck did you order from him? I've been trying to order since August and have sent follow up emails to the point that I'm uncomfortable that I'm hounding him.

I sent him a message through eBay and his website at the same time. He encouraged me to order from his site, which I did. The insert should be here tomorrow.

How does the flat face feel compared to the milled face? I'm considering getting the face smoothed out on a Futura X 5 and converting to a plumbers neck. I prefer a flat face on my blade putter but dont want to be disappointed in the feel after paying for the customization.

Ray did a great job for me on a Yes! putter. Love that smooth mill. How much weight did it knock off of the putter? Thinking of having it done to my current Yes Donna II.

Not much as it still SWs properly for its length. Maybe a few grams as we didn’t need to remove much

Finally took it out yesterday and it was great. Not as firm or as much of a difference as I thought it would be which was great tbh. I thought the completely smooth faces would turn milled putters into crazy hard-feeling faces and it did not. Still lots of feel and responsiveness. I can feel the mis-hits much better in my opinion and with the Phantom mallet design; how much they stay on line and etc.

I’ve been wanting to try a Tri-Hot 5K since they came out, and I finally snagged one on Callaway Preowned for $200. I’m a big wide blade fan, and the shape is absolutely perfect. I also just realized that my custom-built putter from Club Champion was built an inch too long!

Didn’t just buy this one, but the knuckle neck x11 from a few posts up just got a facelift. I’m definitely considering keeping this one now.
