Yes, Srixon if you're reading this please send me some free stuff

no it landed a few feet short and rolled in.

Our club's greens are a week post aeration so not in top playing condition and/or there was an outing yesterday and some savage must have hit the edge of the hole with the pin.

Agreed with snagy, and for the majority of people playing this ball (myself included) it is more likely to be retired by water/woods vs. scuffed/cut.

I'm a 14 and had to stop playing the Mizuno RB Tour after one dozen balls. I was going through 3 a round even if I didn't lose a ball just to the cover tearing. I can easily get a full round or more from the Srixon Z Star and Bridgestone Tour BXS. And other than one ball, I've had luck with the Snell MTB Black being durable. Those balls are going to end up being about 2x the price of the Kirkland, but if I play them each twice as long, the money is a wash.

Damn Brooks. Does your sand wedge go 170?

I told you guys the original cover was garbage. Shame that this one is trending that way as well.

Those 2 pics are some BIG cuts in the golf ball. Crazy thing is, if playing anything of importance, you have to play the hole out with that gash in the golf ball.

On another note, if you have to use 3 or 4 Ksigs to get through a round (due to damage, not being lost), it's no longer a cheap alternative to the big boys.

May have just been a fluke though, time will tell.

If the covers on these are TPU rather than cast thermoset (which they must be if the rumored factory of origin is correct) then I've got to say based on the cut-open photo that was posted it's among the thinnest TPU covers I've ever seen on a golf ball. Seems plausible that maybe they pushed the limits on durability a few thousandths too far in search of better feel and performance.

Yes, I don't think your fellow players or a Rules official is going to give you any grief about replacing that one!

Where's this rumor from? I highly doubt Costco would do a run of only 350 of these.

The forum's search feature sucks so I'm can't easily locate the post. But someone in this or some other K-Sig related thread claimed that a friend who has access to Costco's inventory computer looked up the KP1 when they went on sale and found a total quantity of 350 was all that was ever stocked this time around.

I am not claiming that's remotely reliable information. Which is why I said "rumored". But it was posted a day or two ago, here.

It certainly accords with the observed fact that the balls went up for sale with no warning and were sold out in, what, something like 4-5 hours?

[EDIT] My mistake, it wasn't here. It was on another forum, a post from Friday at 7:29pm claiming:

>I have a friend that works there and was able to look up the inventory. There was only about ~350 total units on this.

Make of that what you will.

I don't think that cuts are a problem for better players. If higher handicap players are routinely hitting trees and topping iron shots they are probably better off looking to a more durable ball. What I'm curious about is how well the cover holds up to clean iron strikes. I don't like playing scuffed balls.

So let me get this straight.

If you're a "better player" you ought to play with $1.50 Chinese-made discount ball from Costco because you always hit it cleanly and it won't tear up on you?

But if you're a higher handicap player you ought to go buy $4.00 Pro V1's that are more durable?

Somehow that seems backwards to me.

I bet there's other balls besides ProV1's out there. Hmmm, yep. I checked the internet, seems there's lots of cheap balls for beginners.
