4 dozen is a big gamble if it doesn’t meet expectations, but on the other hand, $60 is only slightly more than a new box of Pro V1’s.

They have the best money back guarantee in the biz. Hit a few, if you don't like them, return them for a full refund. What other balls have that guarantee?

A few other interesting things we saw were that they'll be selling some Odyssey putters, and it showed a Titleist ball called something like "Tour distance" in the system. Interesting stuff.

In the early 2010's Costco sold a double dozen of Titleist balls called Tour Distance. It was a 2 piece distance ball that sold for $29.99 for the double dozen. If true it seems like a bit of history repeating. Wonder what the new version might be. After Costco stopped selling it the balls were sold by other retailers IIRC.

Over the years Titleist has used the Tour Distance name multiple times starting in the late 90's with a wound 3 piece surlyn covered version and followed it with a Tour Distance SF version.

2012 Costco version below.

This.

But for some reason that guarantee ticks off many in this thread. Because everything Kirkland comes with the same assurances, they start comparing golf balls to bacon.

What is the gamble when they allow returns even if you use some and don't return all 48?

So during my Costco run tonight, I asked the manager to look up on his computer to see if there's any info on the new 4 piece. After a little searching, he found it. It looks like it's online only at first as far as he can tell, and it showed that they come in boxes of 48 for $59.99. No date of arrival was shown, but it is in the system. A few other interesting things we saw were that they'll be selling some Odyssey putters, and it showed a Titleist ball called something like "Tour distance" in the system. Interesting stuff.

I'm leaning towards believing that he was seeing the Tour Distance in an archive section rather than a coming soon section.  In any case, even if there is no acrimony between Costco and Titleist over the lawsuits (you never know when there is money to be made) and Titleist want to bring back the Tour Distance name, I wouldn't expect there to be any of those balls on the shelves until after they appeared on the conforming list.

I hope the durability is on par with ProV1 or even the latest Vice Pro.

I hope I improve enough that I lose balls to wear and tear rather than water and OB.

With enough hard work and dedication and maybe some lessons you too can be disappointed when you have a round where you lose one or two balls.

1.  Every ball in the new box will have a cut in the cover...even if they've never been hit

2.  You will lose 20 yards per club because it spins more than a Wilson Duo

3.  The next iteration of the 4-piece ball will be released 2 weeks after you buy the 3.2

4.  It only costed me $210 to post in this thread b/c I bought a bunch of other stuff

5. You'll immediately need a new name for it b/c decimals are hard

6.  A deep sense of guilt will consume you b/c there are other DTC ball manufacturers that are eleventy billion times better than Kirkland

What did I miss?

7. We go crazy over high spin rates on golf balls, but that doesn't apply to the Kirkland because it spins "too much".

Hopefully it was a Costco frying pan so they'll take it back and give you a refund.

These are the original 4 piece balls - the Holy Grail of KSigs. Never had a bad odor.

They have the Hex Tour (no soft) available online now.  Two dozen for $64.99 including shipping.

seems really expensive for a non urethane cover (it says "hybrid cover" which I'm assuming isn't urethane)

In Canada they are being sold as 2 double dozen (48 balls) for that price. I imagine its the same in the US.

Edit: After looking at the US site there is some differences but most of the product description is the same/similar. In Canada its Hex Tour Soft vs Hex Tour on the box although the rest looks the same. And pricing is very different and 4 dozen in Canada vs 2 dozen in US.

I’ve mentioned in other posts that I don’t think the soft version mentions the “hybrid” cover and I’ve only seen Callaway mention a hybrid cover for other balls in descriptions of the ERC Soft. Hopefully someone can cut one in half and do a comparison.

I'd be more interested in someone taking a durometer to the cover, comparing with a Chrome Soft (keeping it in the same company).

I was looking at it more from the point of view of 2 non-urethane Callaway balls that use the same description (hybrid) for the cover but all comparisons are welcome. Just a curiosity thing though.  Even at the in-store price, they’d have to be pretty special to choose them over urethane options that are out there.

Oh yeah, special indeed...Pretty sure Callaway used their supercomputer's AI technology to design a flash face "hybrid" cover which launches the ball at faster speeds than any other ball on the market...Thus we have HT 1.0 for those simple minded folks...
