Tiger's clubs for Safeway (Photo added page 19)

Recommended Posts

I don't normally get into this kind of speculation, but what the heck.

Tiger has been out of action for what, 14 months, trying to heal and build a swing that will both prolong his career and breathe new life into it at the very same time. He also is quite adverse to equipment change. I really don't think that he will add a whole new bag or even part of one into the mix at a time when things are likely already tough enough. I honestly believe he will play what he knows, at least until he is satisfied that both his back and his game are in serviceable condition.

There. It's out of my system now............

i was looking on youtube Tiger's 2000 pebble beach run, and boy, he had a really rough swing.. must have stressed his back, hip, etc.

he can use baby swing thru m2 and it'll fly 270yds fine. lol

I have a tough time picturing TW without his VR pros, I definitely think there's a good chance he shows up with the Mizuno irons and Bridgestone balls though.

Iirc he was using the Vapor Pros last year, not the vr.

I recall reading an article about a top tier pro tennis player and his rackets, way back in the early 90's. The company was going to stop making the particular racket he used, so they made a final run with an extra 500 or so rackets for the player to use for the rest of his career.

Makes me wonder how many unused sets of Nike clubs Tiger has lying around.

Rory had NIKE make him 4 or 5 drivers, 3 sets of irons, and 3 years worth of balls once they told him they weren't making clubs anymore, and ask what do you still need.

I guess to venture Tiger will a NIKE Driver since he prefers a bonded driver (maybe he will bite the bullet and use an M1/M2 though) and NIKE 3 & 5 wood. Irons are a toughy but its either NIKE, something custom from Mizuno or Miura. Hell Mizuno tweeted at him and rory when NIKE said they were done making clubs. Wedges will probably be the custom NIKE and Putter is another crap shoot; I guessing Scotty but he has used his Method now for roughly 5 years and says he putts better with it.

Bridgestone ball if he doesn't use a NIKE though.

Can't lose money if you put chips on red and black or odd and even. Ohh wait, you can 0 and 00. Well, I guess he is going to use a box set of Top Flights from Dicks

I would assume he's been practicing this entire time with whatever he's going to bag when he tees it up next. Doubt he's been tinkering that much as of late. I hope WRX's servers don't blow up once we get the first glimpse of his bag.

Sorry late to the party....but we got on track videos/pictures of Prototype cars, we have "awesome" pictures of Celebrities and Royalty..... but no one can find out what freaking clubs Tiger has been practicing since last year...only to find out what he might be playing with in his first appearance...

I am really curious about his philosophy on the golf swing under Como and how that translates to his equipment.

Just got some intel that he'll be wielding a Fly SWATter custom driver, from a small independent manufacturer in Canada. Features a breakthrough no-holes / yes-holes aerodynamic faceplate design. Apparently Wilson turned it down when it had the opportunity to market it. Bet they're kicking themselves.

I see what you did there! Well played.

Nike woods, unmarked either miura or mizuno blades and Bridgestone ball. FACT. Seen it with my own eyes 2 weeks ago

Man..tell us about his swing? Ready to go?

hummmm. Mizuno MP5's, Cameron, Bridgestone balls? Nike woods and wedges? Just guessing.

Possible Miura over the MP-5's. The rest stands IMO.

Kind of scary to think off Tigers' accomplishments considering he has never been a great driver of the ball like Jack. :scare2:

He was a great driver of the ball up through 2002.......it would definitely be scary to think how many majors he would have pulled down if he had kept that up.

When he was using a steel shafted 3 wood and blowing it 100 yds by just about everyone. Equipment improvements, more so than abilities, equalized the playing field.

golfers just got more athletic and much stronger....there were no woodlands, DJ, koepkas, etc, etc when tigers came on scene.....he was longest, but game has changed and he is now alot older

So many bad jokes in this thread, some of the worst posters of wrx having a field day. A lot of the hate, if not most of it, is racially motivated, we all know it...

I don't think so many guys would be hating on a genuine comeback attempt by any other golfer in history if they were on the vanilla side of the spectrum.

Weak fields? There were no bombers? There were no complete players? Man this is simply pathetic. Many of you are blatantly lying to prove your weak points. Im on the fence of just leaving this site, the negativity is overwhelming. He's at the very least the second best golfer to ever play, and the best to do it in the last 30 years.

Michael Jordan has his flaws, had a cold attitude and several reasons to dislike him, but the basketball world doesn't hate on him like many hate on TW. I will say though, the supporters are more quiet than the loudmouths. The galleries will be stocked whenever he plays and many of us will support his comeback and good play (whatever level it is). Coming off triple back surgery, how can you question his heart or desire when so many WANT him to fail. Most of you guys don't have the kahunas to swing in front of 10 people let alone thousands in person, and tv coverage for millions. It is a heavy heavy heavy burden.

All these stars you see now, majority of them love TW and view him as a role model. So the same other players you guys cheer for, are cheering for Tiger. They all praised his role as Ryder Cup VC. The big pay days, the coverage, it really is thanks to El Tigre. Its truly sad that we even have to have these type of discussions.

I hope, as everyone SHOULD that he remains healthy, plays well and can finish his career on his own terms. Thats what every athlete wants, and fellow athletes wish for them.
