Best pants I've ever played in... Lululemon.

Recommended Posts

To all the Old Navy fans,

Your Old Navy pants do not have ABC technology. Look it up, your boys will thank you. I do concede that the Old Navy pants are a great value. As much as I appreciate value (I once peaked out at 12 dozen orig KSigs) once I put on a pair on Lulu’s I’ve never considered anything else.

My Old Navys have done well to not crush my balls. I don't see the need to spend 300% more on pants that solve a problem which doesn't exist. I tried on the lulu to see what the hype was about. I just don't see the value there. Comfortable, but not substantial enough to feel like real pants which can pull off multiple roles.

The OG version of the old navy pants did have a gusset very similar to the abc’s. I stopped buying them when the gusset went away.

Personally, I think the use of 4-way stretch in these types of pants makes the decision of whether or not to include a gusset somewhat trivial.

These clothing companies are popping up? Lululemon has been publicly traded for a decade

I could be wrong, but wasn't Luluemon a women's fitness clothing line that has "rebranded" itself? In respect to men's golf apparel, they are sort of new, aren't they?

Honestly I do not know. I know they have made golf clothes for a couple years but I didn’t even walk into a store until 2 months ago

I gotta be honest. I got 2 pairs of Target’s all in motion line of golf pants and they feel exactly the same as my Lulu ABC pants. For $40 bucks they aren’t dirt cheap but you can get 3 pairs of these vs 1 Lulu. Lulu’s return policy is tough to beat but these Target pants are more than holding their own.

Lulu’s were hemmed perfect for me. The Target pants, at least for me, fit just like my Lulu’s. Nice around the waist and slightly slim fit thru the thighs and leg. The only question I have is how they will hold up after 1-2 years. My Lulu’s still look brand new after 4 years. The stitching on the Target pants seems not as nice and refined as the Lulu’s but that’s just to my untrained eye and just a general observation. They have khaki, grey-blue, grey, and black.

I play in the Lululemon Commission shorts and love them. I'm also planning on getting the Rhone Commuter shorts to try against the Lululemon shorts. I wear nothing but Rhone and Lululemon in my daily shorts for working out and coaching in.

Just looking around here, I work in the industry and wear my bonobos tour every day and im trying to save them a little bit for that and I need some pairs to complement my jeans for everyday wear. Like this idea of cheap Target and Old Navy pants. Im going to go looking and I didnt see it looking in this thread, what is the exact name of those two pairs of pants? As far as I know Target and Old Navy are going to have dozens of different kinds of pants and such.

I'm a Lulu fanboy for sure, but picked up a pair of the target pants and I must say I am impressed. Love the way they fit through the leg and the leg opening is perfect. Side by side you can definitely feel a difference in the quality, but for the price they hard to beat. May pick up a pair in every color just to add to the rotation with my lulus. Even if I just get a year out of them, it's worth the investment.

Question for the group on pants with stretch - when I wear these pants, they gather and bunch up all the time. Even when I'm just standing straight, they are all gathered. I've included a picture I found online that demonstrates this. You can see how there is quite a bit of gathering and bunching of the fabric, especially in the lower legs. Is that because I don't have the right size? It's one of the reasons why I've avoided the really stretchy pants even though they are very comfortable. My Bonobos and RLX pants don't stretch much, but they have more structure to them and drape much better. But again, I just wonder if that is because I'm not getting the right size.

Ok, a little shocked by these all in motion target pants. Waist runs small but theyre at least 75% of my Bonobos pants at 1/3rd the price. Im at least going to give them a shot.

All of the comments about finding budget pants from wherever and them being as good as Lululemon in fit and quality are hilarious. It's ok if you don't want to spend $130 on pants, but your $30 pants are worth just that. You get what you pay for, simple as that. There are no budget equals to the ABC pant.

They arent equal but theyre close... and when they’re $40 I think thats surprising. Thats all im saying, its nice to have the cheap pants for muddy or rainy days, or to wear regularly and save the nice ones for the course.

I think they are a lighter material and probably better for warmer days. Lulu pants are def thicker fabric. The Rhône commuter pants I have are supposedly slim fit but seem more like a straight leg cut. This causes more bunching at the ankle. I prefer a more tapered lower leg but still wear these on and off the course

I quit buying the Old Navy pants, just because of no new colors, but the are awesome pants and can usually be had for $30.

I can be a pants snob too, but realize bang for the buck.
