I won't touch tm stuff anymore. I used there woods all the way up to the R11, then the product cycles got stupid and it felt like every other month they had the newest and best out. Nothing to do with the quality of the stuff I guess, just don't believe in the marketing. I hate that other companies that I do like are going to the same route now. I'm considering upgrading my G to the G400 series and im starting to think I'm buying into the marketing. I'll be testing in the coming weeks to compare.

Callaway. I think their clubs are ugly, the logo is ugly, and their recent "lifestyle brand" marketing rubs me the wrong way. I realize my attitude is childish and petty, but I'm entitled to that opinion. All that being said, they've been making some really good clubs over the last couple of years. So I give them credit for that. I just wouldn't play them, even if they were better for my game.

Never had an eye for white driver heads or ping irons, funny I play ping hybrid & 3,5 woods

I’ll give just about any brand a chance, but I’m very traditional. That said I think the only brand I actively avoid is Cobra, color and sound we’re never right for me. Performance is always lacking, and they have a poor tour presence.

I think out of the major OEMs ive played woods, irons, wedges, putters from al of them at one time or another. So there really isn't any manufacturer I won't use.

I probably however will never have any PXG stuff. I don't care for Parsons and I personally just couldn't justify that kind of cost (from the post earlier, I'm more of a Camry type person). I'm sure they're great for a lot of people.

PXG

Total turn off. Price point. TV ads, Parsons. The players they sign. You name it.

I would not buy taylormade new because they are a bad investment. they come out with a new driver every six months then your club is half price

Depreciating assets are not investments. If anything, you're only "investing" in the performance of a club. I've never understood this issue, but I don't buy every new driver release, either.

couldnt agree more, and the products arent fantastic, the irons are a clubs strong so they trick people into thinking they hit a 7 iron 10 yards longer, when in reality its a 6 iron

I like my clubs all to be same brand sans putter because my Bettinardi BB1 is not leaving my bag!

Something about mismatched brands bothers me! My irons dictate my bag selection. 2018 Apex MB are in the bag now. Because of that, I need the whole line to work for me. Callaway is best fit for me at the moment.

I could play...

Callaway (preferred. They have more options that fit me)

PING (played all ping for 15 years) was time for something diff

Cobra (could play and have played some clubs) but don’t like their wedges

Taylormade (good woods, players irons look promising, crap resale value)

PXG - hell no

Titleist - no

Nike - no, maybe if they still made clubs

Wilson - no, only because availability to try

Srixon- no, same as above

Cleveland - no, same as above and becoming game improvement only

That's not really accurate. Depreciating assets sure can be investments; they just may be poor investments. There's no question that the re-sale value of some manufacturer's equipment is greater than others. They all depreciate, some a lot more quickly than others.

Edit to add: Some clubs actually do increase in value over retail, it's rare, but it does happen occasionally.

Load of tosh, all OEMs do that with their GI/SGI lines. Thanks for visiting us from the not to distant past, how is 2012 treating you?

Also did you miss the Titleist AP1 and AP3 specs from a couple pages back?

TM's MBs are also some of the most 'traditionally' lofted ones available (along with Titleist/Wilson IIRC), more so than Mizuno.

Really just PXG, but only because I've hit them and figured out they're not worth the extra money. I absolutely detest TaylorMade marketing but I'm not going to let their horrible ad campaigns become detrimental to my golf game, so even they get a crack at my bag.

I have this quirk too. All I need is a Tour Edge fairway wood to complete an all Tour Edge Exotics bag.

Next I would need a couple of Nike fairway woods and wedges to complete an all Nike bag

Have never bought or played:

Taylormade. Products are fine ... just not my style for some reason. Could care less about release cycles or how much they pay their pro's.

Nike. See above.

PXG. Dislike the idea behind the company.

Favorite brands are still Adams, Bridgestone, Cleveland, Ping, Mizuno.

Woods/Fairways:  Callaway with Mitsubishi shafts

Irons:  Srixon with Dynamic Gold shafts

PXG because well, DUH!!! Parsons is a jerk, their equipment is grossly over-priced and mainly because Parsons says in his commercial that "nobody makes clubs the way they do, nobody" - yet he is suing TM for making a club like his with 'his' technology. Except TM did it many years before PXG existed.

The Hammer......

Does this even count as a brand?

Royal Treatment irons. Even with the ball bearings just not convinced they will help anyone.

And then there is the Square Something Wedge.

All proof positive that everyone out there is trying to buy a better game. Now, if you all will excuse me, I have to go take a look at the new Rogue Drivers....

TaylorMade because, several years ago, against nearly 75 other candidates, I had a series of 4 interviews and they (1) shortlisted me down to one of three for a job in my area, then (2) told me they chose me, only to renege and lie about hiring me for that job, a few days later, after I gave notice at my then current company, because the TM RVP was told he couldn't make the hire.
