2019 Tournament of Champions

So I guess Woodland's Wilson contract is just irons and hat? No Cortex in the bag.

There are "incentives" but he hasn't put in in yet. That's the most they've said per another post that I can't remember where it is.

He tested a Cortex and has it with him in Hawaii, but I believe he has the G400 in the bag.

I wish the course was playing as firm as it normally does.

nah the softer fairways has it playing longer makes it a much better tournament. not just bomb and gouge. they cant burn out the greens because of the winds so the soft fairways helps as they now have to be more precise onto specific landing areas with longer irons.

Any footage of any player taking a drop from knee height?

Still no footage?

Mark Crossfield has been ridiculing the knee height drop for months.

Bryson took a drop on 18 from his knee or a curtsey or something. Just saw it on morning drive. But can’t find video. It was quite awkward

His knee was bent as well. Apparently the player does not have to stand “straight legged” to drop. Bryson was kind of squatting into it.

I posed that question to the rules guys in a thread over there. And they say it’s soemthing like “ reasonable proximity “ to the knee. As in it doesn’t matter. Somewhere in the area of a knee bent or not. So from ankle to waist I’d say can’t be called. Pretty rediculous to be that vague if you ask me. It’s getting to where there are zero black and white rules. Only grey. When will we see a time where it matter which rules official is with a group as to whether something is a Penalty or not ? I’d say not far from now. And that will be sad.

It does make the course play longer no doubt, but I’d like to see them try to play their approach shots with a 20mph crosswind and hard green. But maybe it wouldn’t be as interesting if those shots were from 120yds instead of 160. Tee shots would definitely be tougher if the course were firm.

I didn’t have a problem with the knee drop rule until I saw a few players do it. It’s ridiculous.

I love the idea of dropping from knee height, although I haven't had the opportunity yet I was happy with the original idea of the drop height being even lower.

Our bunkers pool with H20 after heavy rain, and although there is a free drop to be had if your ball finishes in the water it's never really relief, the drop from shoulder height into the soaking sand always results in an extremely plugged ball, from which of course there is no free relief.

I look forward to my ball landing gently and staying on top of the the sand when in future I drop the ball from somewhere just below my knee.

Common sense would dictate to stand straight up and bend at the waist with no knee bend. No Player ever had the idea to bend the knees with the old rule because you are closer to the ground. Now all of a sudden Bryson wants to do so. Why is he such a PITA?

My apologies if this was answered elsewhere. I tried signing into the NBC Sports App with my cable provider info and can't get access on either the phone or Roku (we're traveling). It appears I need to have a Gold account to watch in primetime. Is this accurate? The place we're staying doesn't have Golf Channel.
