McIlroy playing excellent stuff again. I think he's improved the short irons and just generally striking it as well as he ever has really since this season started. If he keeps putting himself in the position he has to put one away surely.

Is it me or did the toptracer just look off a lot of the times? I recall many times where the tracer showed balls in fairway bunkers but in fact were perfectly fine...

I was watching yesterday, ST said (guessed) landing area would be in water on 7, but was actually about 30-40 feet to the left in the sand.

 

Also, watching just now on Live, and they were interviewing the TopGolf guy, and showing one of the tracers... ball had already landed, sitting there, and I watched the arc "update" to a more bowed arc... like 10 or so seconds after the ball landed.

I've felt that way for quite a long time - several years.

 

I've watched the path and curve on ST only to find the ball ended up somewhere quite different. I never quite got why so many were calling for more use of ST in broadcasts. It's somewhat interesting, but I could live with or without it.

We talked about that right after it happened. Someone said you have to use the drop zone or retee. I questioned then if that local rule (if it is place) is legit since it would violate the basic rule of a penalty area drop (I think). I think I’ll pose that question in the R &E forum.
