Was kinda surprised to see Mike Weir qualified by finishing T5 in a pretty good field at the Dallas Sectional. Hope he does well.

All the players are paired with celebrities too.

Walter: Tell me Bobby, why do you play this game?
Bobby: I play because I love it.
Walter: Well I play for the money. I have to win. That is why every time we face each other I will always beat you.

Sneds is a great sleeper pick there.

> These odds on Tiger are ridiculous. If at the age of 43 poeple still think he’s going to contend as consistently as he used to they are delusional. I was as excited about him winning at Augusta as anyone but I also live in the real world. The other thing that’s been lost in all of this is his familiarity with Augusta, and the fact that it’s one of those courses that has “horses” who are uniquely suited for it, and he’s obviously one of them. Just like Jack, Arnold, and Mickelson. A win at Augusta doesn’t necessarily translate to consistent success everywhere else, ESPECIALLY at 43 years of age and with a fragile body.

>

> Doesn’t mean I’m not rooting for him, but there isn’t a chance on earth I would take that bet, including if he won at The Memorial.

Correct, but to people in Vegas who see Tiger at 20-1 and throw down a bet, if he went on to win they'd be taking a huge loss and they cannot have that. The same reason the Chicago Cubs always had better odds to win the world series than they ever should have, because people will always put money on them to win. Vegas and sportsbooks everywhere need to protect themselves and that is how. A random degenerate isn't going to see Cantlay at 30-1, Sneds and Kisner at 100-1 and bet them. They are going to find the chalk and hammer those guys if the odds are too betting friendly.

But anywhos...hard to not think that we may have the same 2 guys competing against each other come Sunday the way they're playing in big tournaments. Hopefully DJ can finally break through.

My top 3 picks are

1. Brooks, how can you not pick this major monster

2. DJ, has won at pebble a few time

3. Phil, has won at pebble more than anyone that I can think of including this year.

To win 3 U.S Opens in a row and 5 of the last 9 majors, would be mind boggling. If anyone can do it, he's got the head for it

Someone needs to tell the USGA that you don't have to make greens brown and crusty to have a hard course. Just look at Bethpage. PGA Championship this year was one of the funnest tournaments to watch in a long time. Hard course and wasn't a three ring circus a bunch of clowns set up.

I am GenX.  If you really think I care about what you have to say, I don't.

Jordan Spieth said he was really close to what he is trying to do and a 3rd at the PGA is worth a lot for him at this point. That just might be the igniter that gets him back, to where most of us feel he should be. At any rate, this should be a very interesting Open, regardless of how/what the USGA does to render it a joke.

Who gives a crap about your interest in tracking the odds this far out? Tournament threads are the week of tournaments. Gone are the days when we had some really classy ones. Now it's the "have to be first Vegas take". Robert Urich would deck you.

If we are having Vegas threads a month before majors, let's have a Vegas thread.

LOL. look at your own avatar. "countdown to the Masters." once again, counting down to the next year? quite far away.

Besides, many of us are thrilled to welcome you back here after 6/17.

Who's love for PB is fading? Yours? Mine isn't. And they aren't having any trouble filling up the Lodge and the tee sheet out there, that's for sure.

my opinion is about PB being the choice of PGA events. Not about the the place itself though I think Bandon is better choice over PB.

Pebble is a special place. Not quite long enough as a test anymore, but still a special place.
