Who are you kidding, G!?!?!? Neither of us is good enough for the 770s, but it is fun to act like we are!!!!!

I'll take a set of P7TWs with X7s and the offset pressed out. But don't you dare lay hands on my regular flex kaili 60 at 42.5" and tipped 2"!!!

Ha ha! Sorry for the sidebar, guys. Little inside joke from the #TMTuesday2017 gang!!

I have a request more than a question here, but for the sake of my sanity and others, please do away with carbon fiber sole tech if at all possible, or make it as far away(and recessed) from the leading edge of drivers and fw's as possible. Sandy tee boxes and other nasty lies do that sort of material absolutely NO favors. Thanks!

Quick one. Very confused on the new measuring system stated with the custom wedges. I play right now my 52-56-60 at 35.25-35-34.75. What is that with the new measuring? Still a 1/4 inch off standard?

thank you!

@JackpotJohnny I played a GAPR Hi 4 set to LOWER and -1/2” (to make it play a little flatter :p) with a HZRDUS Black 6.5 for a while and loved it! You may have noticed that most of us play what is in its current product cycle. I’m anxiously awaiting an adjustable rescue to use again. I love the SIM Max Rescue, but bonded products have their limitations in the field and sometimes what I have just isn’t going to be good enough for the player I am working with. With the adjustable products, I get a lot larger pool of components and possible combinations to work with.

Great question! It is our goal to be the leader in custom - We have made great efforts to create a team of fitters to travel from location to location providing the best fitting experience possible, we are changing our processes to hit weight tolerances and swing weight preferences, and there may be other options added to the custom department in the future; and each time we make a change to accommodate a new feature, it takes time to set up, before we can implement. I would categorize this as something to watch out for in the future as this would make sense and a natural step on the road to leading the custom club space.

The blanket statement that ALL shafts are tipped 1” is just untrue. Many of the regular and senior flex shafts require no tipping at all. Our Company uses what we refer to as “build specs” and these specs have been tested and decided to be feasible. If shaft tipping was considered too stiff or too soft based on the raw, or cut performance, we would not authorize the build specs. Yes, we do have a preference to use shafts that are firmer in the tip section, but I think this is to match the feel preferences of a generation who used bore through shafts in the 90s ??? Personally, I play the Smoke Green 6.5 untipped.

@rschaner Absolutely it would. You would get a higher launch and higher spin probably in the neighborhood of 1* higher and 250+ RPMs more spin. ANY time you adjust the concentration of mass (center of gravity) there is an affect on the launch of the ball. When I build a driver that comes in under SW, I need to add more weight to the head in the form of a fixed weight or hot melt, AKA Goo lol. I consider what the player would benefit from when placing that weight in the head... Does the player need to launch it higher? If so, I place the extra wight in the rear-center of the head. Does the player need higher but anti-left? If so, I would hold the head so that the hot melt dries in the rear but towards the toe. Any time you add extra weight to the club head you are moving the concentration of mass and its influence on the club face to square up through impact.

I think you need to have your folks check things better for your non-US affiliates. Many examples, such as this one (ordered through Taylormade.ca), where the headweight of the SIM Max was 193g and came out to D0.5 (club was ordered at 45") .

You guys really need to release a "players" SIM adjustable hosel hybrid like the M3. Proabably doesn't really need the sliding weights, but a more compact head with the loft sleeve would be awesome!!!!

Fujikura has a Pro 95i iron shaft that is quite excellent that works extremely well for better players that I have found to be the best and most consistent graphite light weight I have tested. I have recommended it to numerous others who have also found success with it also. Even two 50+ yr old single digits who have gone to the lighter Pro 85i.

I never played with a lighter weight shaft with any success prior to this shaft. I have used it now in three sets of irons.

I haven't tested drivers in a few years because I got ideal numbers with mine and knew it was a high MOI head for how low spin it is so I assumed nothing would be better (it's a King LTD).

However. I randomly went to a golf store because it was raining and I wanted to hit some balls. I tried the SIM driver. It was SIGNIFICANTLY better on mishits than my own driver. They all were a lot longer and straighter than I would have expected. They weren't spinning up as much when I hit them low heel

Is this unique to something about SIM? Or would M3/M5 be similar due to Twist Face?

Thanks!

P790 TI Irons go a mile. Why not add 2 or 3 iron as a driving iron/hybrid/FW replacement. Even better TI UDI 1,2,and 3 irons. Any chance this can happen?

Taylormade: I still play the 2005 TB CB irons. I actually have 3 sets... Current gamers look almost new. I however always have it in the back of my mind that there is probably a TM iron that is newer that outperforms mine. I value the weaker traditional lofts, the thin topline, and the soft feel of the forged 2005’s. If I were to upgrade where would you suggest I start? I’m not afraid of a blade if technology has made it as forgiving as my CB’s. Anything come to mine in the recent years? Anything lower than a 47* PW would be a deal breaker for me.

Ho guys, this is absolutely great. I was wondering if you have any info on the 2010 or so Burner TP irons that were a Japan only item and what the metal used for those irons was and why it wasn't used more widely. Those were the best feeling irons i have ever owned and I wish I still had them.

Hey @TaylorMade Golf thanks for doing this and hope everyone is healthy and staying safe! Can't echo enough the other lefties in this forum on TM giving us southpaws some more options across the TM lineup! Wish more lefties than Mike Weir could get a hold of P730s (even though they'd punish me!). Also wish TM offered more custom line (or dots!) options for the Spider Xs.
Had a question regarding the sliding weight on my SIM driver. Play a pull cut so I have the weight in the draw (closer to heel) setting to keep my fade manageable. Wanted to know whether I should have the weight all the way at the heel end of the track or about a quarter-inch from the end of the track on the heel side? Also what would be the advantages/disadvantages of each placement? Played a few rounds with the SIM when I originally got it with the weight in the center/standard setting and noticed I hit more draws with that weight setup than with the weight all the way in the heel (draw setting).
Thanks again for taking the time!

With the SIM drivers is the “Diamana S Limited 60” shaft a “made for” shaft or is it a real deal Diamana? The pics and specs look like it could be the Diamana S+ Limited 2nd Gen from the current MCA catalog/website, is this the same shaft? Usually there’s a big up charge for a shaft like this...Regarding the FW’s I couldn’t find any Diamana FW 75 Limited offered by MCA other than their Thump but that’s not it. Is that a shaft MCA made only for the SIM FW’s? It would be great to add weight to the SIM Max if playing at 45.75” is too long, which it is for me. Thanks for your time!

Edit: Confirmed with Mitsubishi Chemical the Diamana S Limited 60 is the aftermarket Diamana S+ Limited 2nd Gen! I love the Blue Board's in my driver and woods so this is refreshing info.

Nothing new yet on the Diamana FW 75 Limited or swing weight options with the SIM drivers...

Taylormade Team... Thanks very much for doing this!

I have a question regarding the +/- 1-degree loft sleeves that you all have on the tour van: Are all loft/lie settings on this adapter "half" of that on the standard +/- 2-degree sleeve? Meaning, for example, that the "upright lie" setting is standard loft, but 2 degrees upright (vs 4 degrees upright on the standard adapter)?

Thanks!
