Oldest ball you've found on the course?

Played my course today and found this in the rough just off the 14th fairway. A Golden Ram Mark IV - 90, circa 1988.

Rare indeed. Never seen that model of Ram. Some of our older members donated some balls to the junior section for coaching.....museum grade ammo...1.62s...Uniroyal, Penfold, Dunlop Warwicks….original Top Flites and the hardest ball I ever played..Maxfli Silver Max.

Its a little yellowed, but no scuffs or stains. Its sitting on an office shelf now.

If I'd found one of those when I was a kid, I'd have been burned at the stake! When I just started circa 1969 I'm sure I found all sorts of really old balls and used them until I lost them. Back in the day the fun was to find the occasional British ball someone had played and lost - those were treasures! And lost those as well, lol. You kids don't know the fun of picking the rubber bands off the insides of old balls!

And cutting into the sac of those liquid centres! From what I remember, there was a viscous, bluish liquid inside.

After rinsing my Titleist NXT on a par 3 yesterday, (hit way too much club off the tee into a wind, one bounce off the back of the green and into the hazard), I played a Slazenger $ Money ball I had found, on the last 2 holes. Surprisingly, felt pretty good hitting it for what I guess is a pretty old ball. Lower compression maybe?

Found this Spalding Canada Cup a while back...played one hole with it....felt like hitting a marsh mellow. It looks almost new considering it's age.

Oldest one I've found is a Titleist with acushnet on the side.

I found one from 1930’s iirc ... about 10 years ago

it was under a big old tree at a famous Stanley Thompson design, Cutten Fields (my home club for university golf)

I have found Kro-Flite, Lee Trevino faultless, Wilson K28, and Club Special. Somewhere I have a bag full of that old stuff. Nothing from the '30's though. That's a gem.

I have found the following: Club Special, Achushnet, Achushnet K, Achushnet DT, Titleist DT Durable SURLYN and the rest of the Titleist line.

Ping Eye (2), Ping Eye Karsten, Ping Eye 2 and just about every other brand name produced in the 50's and 60's (to many to type).

Me and my dad go ball hunting at night with ultraviolet lights, we found a titlest acushnet k..... Yeah that's an old ball, it's even got a balata cover.

I found a Titleist Tour Professional 100 today and a Maxfli DDH II today on the same hole.

I find old balls once in awhile and also find Pinnacle's with black stripes and they say "practice" on them ( from our driving range.)

I didn't find it on the course but I did find a Maxfli Revolution in a bucket of range balls at my local driving range (wound version not the less popular solid core version).  I took it for myself and it now in my basement to practice chip shots with.   For those who think I'm stealing range balls I don't think so as it never belonged to the driving range to begin with.

Found these two on the same day on two different golf courses last fall. Chatham Seaside Links and Eastward Ho! The Top-Flite looks like something I remember my father having in the early 1970s.  The Titleist Acushnet DT is at least that old I think.

I found a pink Flying Lady Butterfly ball from the 80's last week.  I just thought "somebody took Grandma's clubs out over Christmas break"!

I find some of those old top flite amd MacGregor balls from time to time.

They have a 1970 look to them.

I save them, but never look those up to see any info.

My guess is: someone bought an old golf bag and clubs for $20 at a yard sale. Or, a kid found his deceased grandpa's clubs from years ago, and decided to try golf.
