Very interesting!  I noticed in some of the other photos of Adam hitting driver that the grip's logo wasn't straight. He always has tour velvets with the logo down, so it makes me think he's just testing the shaft out and hasn't gotten it dialed in yet.  It will be really interesting to see if the Ventus makes it into play on Thursday.

Gotta love the red color. The tour seems to be dominated by the black. Is there anyone else playing the red in a driver at this point?

Very interesting, Adam isn't exactly a short hitter and has been pretty vocal in the distance/course setup discussions.  Also, what shoes are those ? They don't look like the 1857s he's been wearing for over a year.

Nice combo I'd say...low spin head, mid to high spin shaft = max carry. The man's a known tinkerer...curious to see if this setup makes it in the bag.

That's a very interesting combo. I've heard Ian from TXG say if the the red profile has some decent tipping on it that the shaft becomes very stout as the rest of the shaft it pretty stiff.

The red is very under rated because everyone wants the black. That is a pretty interesting combo. Super low spin head combined with a bit more of an active shaft.. Wonder what the tipping is? that could create that high launch low spin super combo..

 

Plus. Is there better looking combo? Jet black head and red shaft?? It is the Sith lord of drivers.. haha.

That's how I played my Cleveland classic 290.  Paired it with a kusala white and it was bomb city.  Still have it kicking around the basement.

Someone recently mentioned that if you tip a Ventus red 2 inches, it plays more like a black with some of the characteristics of the red. I"m short on the details, but I distinctly remember hearing it on a podcast and thinking everyone on here would start searching for Ventus Reds.

Ian from TXG mentioned something along those lines in one of their videos. Makes for a very sturdy shaft.

Reminds me of the diamana red, high torque and spinny, but if tipped properly it became a high launching low spin beast

If you look in the Houston Open picture thread, there’s one where Adam has the driver at address and you can see the velocore label. Didn’t look like there was a huge amount of tipping just from that pic. Thought it was 4” from end of velocore label to the uncut tip. If I was better using an iPhone on Wrx I’d insert the pic here. 
 

I’m about to see what happens tipping a red. In my perfect world Fuji would make a ventus Black in 5s.  So since that’s not available I’m going to try a red 5s and tip it 1.5” to start.
