I tested the new Odyssey toe up putter recently and was really impressed.  It was actually the best performing putter I tried, but I just couldn't get over the look.  Schwartzel has been rolling a custom PXG in this hosel style.

Finau competes for wins so often, and I’ve never seen him get hot with the putter. I like that he’s trying something new. Sometimes just switching putters instills confidence and can get you hot for at least a short stretch. If he gets hit with the putter for even two rounds, he’s got a good chance at winning any tournament.

No reason he can’t be a multiple wins per year guy if he can start getting that putter even a tiny bit hotter.

There’s a bit of a dilemma I have when I see putters like this.

on one hand, I’m an amateur golfer, not playing for any money, and I too would play any putter that helped me shave off a stroke of two per round. On the other hand, with access to the most beautiful and pristine equipment on earth, we can acknowledge this one should run down papa Piretti’s shower drain.

While not a fan of Finau's new stick, the shaft behind the face design is one I believe in. The original B60 incorporated this and is retained in my B60 Serene (yes, Serene) TR.

They said on the telecast that he had this built as a training putter a while back. Not sure what they were working on. He just decided to go with it this week in a tournament.

His putting was very solid all week at this event. He was T2 on putts per GIR this week. PGA Tour stats didn't have the strokes gained putting for this event. Having 3 penalty shots on the back 9 Sunday cost him more that his putting when after he shot -5 on the front nine in the final round. I know facts suck. Sorry I brought them up LOL.

So...can lead after the first or second or third round, but no chance to win because we have seen this before...okay.

Well his only win was in Puerto Rico (is this even a "real" tournament) in 2016. This year alone he gave up a 2 shot lead with 2 holes to play back in February at the Waste Management. In July he led the Memorial by 4 shots after 63 holes before finishing in 8th place. After this week in Mexico he now holds the PGA Tour record for the most Top-10 finishes without a win over a 4 year period.

So until he proves us wrong I'd say yes it's pretty safe to assume he's not going to win even if he has a 10 shot lead heading into the 71st hole...

I have been playing a Piretti Matera for the last 9 months and I absolutely love it.  I like very soft putters and it feels awesome - super soft.  A little softer than my Bettinardi's and much softer than my Scotty Cameron.   I have the heavier weights in mine so maybe that helps it to feel so soft.

Well, you’re a bass player AND a singer, not surprised your taste is a little weird. Just kidding.

Did he take your girlfriend or something? Saying he might not win...he  could win if things go right...or i hope he closes it out this time...is different then saying he wont win because he had a track record of not doing it. I dont know about you but i haven't won a pga tour event ..or..maybe i have...

As a matter of fact he DID steal my girlfriend. And then he stole my girlfriend's girlfriend if you can believe it!!

The man might not be able to close out a tournament to save his life, but he sure is one smooth talker.
