I'm already opening a new branch of my "faux tuck" shirt.

Announcing... The Golf Overall !

No tucking required. It's good enough for caddies, it's good enough for players.

Sharp, stylish (snicker) golf overall. Even comes with a collar

I can think of a very attention grabbing name to combine the words

“Faux” and “Tuck”

I despise blade collar! Look like your collar stuck in your shirt.

Only people who cool in blade collar like

What the Fauxtuck?!

Yeah, Bubba needs to lose his signature top button look, otherwise the untucked shirt would be fine, maybe a little shorter.  Even this onesie-deluxe-elastic-faux-belt dude adds some stylistic flair without the top button.

Those no collar men should be ashamed for destroying the traditions of golf! Off with their heads!

That should be easy, the collarless shirts leave their long, sinewy necks extremely exposed and vulnerable

I thought professional tournament golf had a dress code requirement that shirts be tucked in? Or is that specifically a PGA Tour rule, and since this is a WGC event as opposed to PGA Tour it is not applicable?

for the record, I don’t care one way or another. I say let them dress how they want, so long as they meet the dress code requirements of the club. Shorts/pants, tucked/untucked, I don’t care.

OK, Idea number 3:

Shirt and underwear is one piece. Brilliant. It never becomes untucked.

You never have to go through the tee up a ball and check if the back of your shirt is still tucked in, or mark you ball on the green and spend another minute fixing your damn shirt again before a ranger spots you and threatens to expel you from school the course.

The problem is that in the old days, pants came above the navel and shirts didn't get untucked. Now, in the rush to save money, pants barely come up to your hips and everyone's crack would show if they didn't have a shirt on. Hell, barely have to use the zipper anymore to go to the bathroom. The pants barely come up high enough to cover your privates

Just for the sake of conversation, who decided what the appropriate attire is, and what’s acceptable and not? Just rules based off of tradition?

Personally, I think the dress code  for attire in a club house or pro shop should be a bit more formal. I’d have no issues with the guys on tv wearing shorts. It’s hot out there, there’s no reason for them to be forced into wearing pants while walking 5 miles. I wouldn’t respect their abilities any less if they had shorts and a T-shirt on. I just ordered some of the Nike blade collar polos and they arrived today, and I honestly don’t see myself wearing any traditional collar polos once the weather is hot and humid here.

This argument that 'traditional' golf clothes are in some way too hot is a bit silly now that there are so many options with technical fabrics and the good 'old fashion' collar has functional purpose in the heat.

Not as much functional purpose as a sun shirt with a hoody.

How many golfers walking around with popped collars at the club lol

they are hotter than linen and spandex and other stuff. It should be up to the discretion of the wearer whether it is “too hot.”

It is very troubling indeed.

😂

Mock is bad enough

Short sleeve mock turtleneck?

So, you need to warm your neck but it’s hot enough for short sleeves?

I could see a mock on a first date. Maybe. Tryin to show your kinda sharp and hip. But otherwise,

“just don’t do it “

I disagree. Having lived through Florida summers for a couple of years, and traveling throughout the country no material can make pants acceptable in some climates. If that were the case I don't think we'd be seeing shorts in practice rounds. With modern clothing and tailoring I don't think there is anything "unprofessional" looking about the shorts they'd be wearing. The women wear shorts, and skirts no one calls their looks unprofessional.

Agreed.

Also, the caddies wear shorts. I'm sure they could wear long pants, if they chose to do so, but they don't. This is so simply because shorts are just more comfortable in the heat and humidity.
