Even worse is that they have Paige on with Boone in their lead announce duo. Every time she opens her mouth I want to hit the mute button. I think it is as much to do with the tone/pitch of her voice as it is the machine gun word salad she unleashes every time she speaks. Just awful.

Not sure what would be better.  #2 for Lexi or another SE Asian player taking a big one very earlier in their career (despite lack of LPGA credentials).

I have to believe that with technology today someone could design a hardware/software  device that could filter out voices from a broadcast.  Like when Joe Buck talks you hit a button and the device learns the voice signature (think of Shazam for music) and removes it from the feed.  All the other voices and ambient sounds remain.  I’d buy it in a heartbeat.

The sun broke out for the first time this week; the score average went up with it.  The Olympic Club showed its teeth today.

 

Particularly, some of the big scores from many Top-20 players might have to do with harder and faster fairways and greens.

Apologies if it has already been pointed out. What is the cause of the variation in color on the greens? Darker areas, lighter areas.

Only 6 rounds under par.  Of the 5 others, no one was really in it to start the day.

 

Ganne through Inbee all had decent rounds vs. the field but with Yuka holding serve and Lexi going bananas they are going to need something Lexi like or help from the final group.

 

I'll probably pull for SE Asia/Yuka but Lexi winning USWO and at this course would be pretty cool too.  Imagine the number of people that can now drop "I've played where Lexi won her USWO!"  Hahaha.

Had she won it seven years ago as a teenager, her career would probably be completely different.

Possibly. The rough moved, causing the shadows on the ball to move. Probably falls under the "naked eye" rule. I'm sure the officials will take a look at it.

One of the commentators said Lexi’s caddie is also a caddie at Augusta.  Might explain her putting this week.  I would lean on his green reading skills.  I hope she can pull this off tomorrow.

Total carnage today. Could be worse tomorrow as they try to bring the winning score back to even par. 

 

Plenty of top players shot 2 to 6 over today. I wouldn't hand out the trophy just just.

Have you really never heard of the allowable Local Rule for sprinkler heads near greens. It has been used in many men’s events as well. 
 

Model Local Rule F-5
“Relief from interference by an immovable obstruction may be taken under Rule 16.1.
The player also has these extra options to take relief when such immovable obstructions are close to the putting green and on the line of play:
Ball in General Area. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b if an immovable obstruction is:
    •    On the line of play, and is:
    »    Within two club-lengths of the putting green, and
    »    Within two club-lengths of the ball.
Exception – No Relief If Line of Play Clearly Unreasonable. There is no relief under this Local Rule if the player chooses a line of play that is clearly unreasonable.

I just about never tune in to watch coverage of a golf tournament unless it's final round of a major.  Today was an exception.  I thoroughly enjoyed watching the ladies take on Olympic (which looks great on TV) and before I knew it I had watched the whole darned thing.  Again, very rare for me.  Look forward to final round tomorrow!

Not seriously sure anyone would expect a repeat performance. To shoot another 66 bogey free round..no way.
