Best golf polo

This is for the bigger guys, but Adidas is quite nice I like the feel of the polos, one gripe is that they are a touch short. I just ordered some Bonobos shirts and I'm quite pleased, haven't played in the yet but they are plenty long and roomy as well. Have to try some of these other brands listed, just need to see if they have the bigger sizes.

If you like longer shirts...RLX is pretty long. they stay tucked in for me all day, even with all the wild swings I make throughout the round lol.

I've unfortunately have put on some weight cause of lockdown and other life stressors so I don't fit into any sizes they have now. But hopefully in a year or so I'll be down in size and can, so thanks for the info.

Hey all,

Have a quick question...of the brands mentioned in this thread, and perhaps even a couple that have not, who has the slimmest cut polo?Just really slim throughout, chest, sleeves, etc.

My J Lindeberg polos are really slim. They have different cuts but their slim cut is pretty slim.

Holderness and Bourne is the best but you pay for it. I also like Bad Birdie to get a little louder without being tacky.

Peter Millar are very good quality but the sleeves are too long or grippy, something.

If you play/practice in the heat a lot, just had some success with Amazon Basics. It was like $17 or something and totally fine for grinding in the heat. Just plain but works.

I have no problem paying for a quality shirt and own a lot of the above mentioned. I find sunscreen to be the almost destruction of good shirts,  very frustrating

The sunscreens with avobenzone turn white golf shirts the color orange.   I have had more luck using zinc-based sunscreens --both for effective sun protection and for not ruining the color of golf shirts.

No other Criquet fans here? I like their polos quite a bit. They fit at the neck and shoulders without being too baggy or too trim at the waist.

It's been a minute since I tried them. Something about them (years ago) didn't quite fit right to me in the collar area. Without being about to try them locally I just moved on. For that type of semi-cotton shirt I really like linksoul.

I have a few Peter Millar and they are nice. But I got to be honest, Puma is straight killing it right now. If you think they are just bright orange pants give them another look. They are making some good stuff in lots of different styles and the fabrics they are putting out right now are legit.

Loving the designs the puma is putting out lately but I can't get over how flimsy the collars are. I wish they were a bit more structured, if you know what I mean.

Go to your nearest Marshall’s, TJMaxx, etc. and buy every RLX or Peter Millar on the rack.  I recently got a nice haul at $29 a shirt.

There are so many great polos out there to chose from but I am to the point now that I am aware of just how much a polo actually costs that I will only pay so much for one unless I really like it or it has a logo from a course that I really enjoyed.  Favorites are:

Fenix Xcell

Cross

Monterey Club

Druh

J Lindeberg

2GG

Sunice

That being said there are a lot of good apparel manufacturers .

Seems like I have to give the classic Peter Millar a try as well...I always thought their fits were large boxy and oversized...but i should give them another shot

They've adjusted their standard fit somewhat. But they also have the "crown crafted" line which is more tailored

If you like a more polished look and a tailored fit try the Charles Thyrwitt polos. Definitely office-worthy.

Gonna have to add another vote for Rhoback polos. I just got one in the mail this week and it ranks up there with the best of them. Hoping to grab a few more when they get more of the funky patterns in stock.

Just ordered 2 to see which fits better.  Will send 1 back.   Then place orders from there.  Hope I like them.  I like the dog logo and the stripes.   I wait to make decision too often and they sell out my size pretty quick.

I tend to live in Travis Matthew stuff.  I like the subtle colors.  Just gotta stay away from the 100% poly stuff; it doesn’t breathe.

Really?  I don’t own any but love the style.   What I do not like is any cotton in a polo.   Both for work or golf.  I try and get dual purpose polos and own almost only Peter Millar.   Just bought a Rhoback to try.   If I ever did buy TM it would be the performance material.   I wish you could sort on their site by material.   Performance material that doesn’t breath?

Correct.  Their cotton/poly blends are the best IMO and the Pima Cotton/poly blends are the best of all of them.  It seems counterintuitive since all my other brands I tend to buy in Poly/Spandex blends; but I’m not a fan of TM 100% poly.
