So am I and many others here. However, my last pre-order is this year with the Epic Max LS...while the buzz was great, in hindsight, I am not seeing gains that was worth the extra $200 to play it early...

I think I will get Stealth down the line but like I posted earlier, wait 6 months and BST will be selling these heads for $300 - $320, that $220-$250 saved can go to a much better & worthier cause..... beer 😁

Happy Thanksgiving everyone on WRX 👍

Given all the early buzz and the sense that the tech/materials will be new and different, I'm wondering if this one might have a higher-than-normal resale price for a while. Impossible to know at this point, obviously; just something I'm curious about.

I do take your point, though. I bought a lightly used Epic Max LS recently for a discount of $225-ish plus tax. Not enough of an upgrade over what I'd been playing to pay full price, but at that price it's great.

Here’s a quote from someone that was able to spend some time with it. He’s usually pretty conservative and balanced in his perspectives.

”I think shape and looks are a mix between Mini 300 and M5 Tour, it seemed better on off center hits than anything I can remember - however, it is a step forward, not a revolution”

Well if it’s shaped like the 435cc M5 Tour then I am definitely in for one of these!

Stop it, red carbon face won't add a foot, let alone the 40 yds. you need

Did you mean to say "the 40 yards you need", or does the period imply a new sentence suggesting that Sir Ian McKellen can help find those missing yards? 😆

I heard its called taylormade redhawk... you hit a drive.. a redhawk is guaranteed to swoop in at the peak of the shot and carry it and extra 10 to 20 yards depending on which version and shaft combination you bought. If you buy redhawk ball you can add extra 5 yards or the hawk can place whatever spin and shape you need on it.

So what all of you are saying is that they will make a driver with less titanium ($), more aluminum (.01$) and more carbon fiber (.01$) and sell it to all of us hackers for considerably more ($$$$).

Figured it out yet?

Suckers.

Don't forget R&D ($$$) and marketing ($$$$$). Not to mention the Taylormade logo ($$$$$$$$$$$$$) 🤣

While I'm not saying prices haven't gotten out of hand, the cost difference between stamping out aluminum and layering carbon fiber is not inconsequential.

Sometimes I get a little dramatic.
Really just joking because it is actually what the people want. A new driver every year touted as the latest and greatest. People will trip all over themselves to lay out half a grand for it. Never mind composite faced drivers are old tech. Been done before. In the end it will be just another driver that gets the same ball speeds the old drivers did. The difference? Taylormades bottom line. Good for them.

Can’t disagree with your logic as I own SIM, 2 SIM Max and a SIM2 and I gamed the SIM Max most of the summer but I would add, should anyone in here really care what others spend their money on?

You want us to stop posting telling other people they’re spending their money foolishly? WRX equipment posts would drop by half.

Absolutely not. I can guarantee you I don’t give a toot. Commenting on it is a totally different animal though. Discussion of opinions is OK, right?

Absolutely! I remember one of my 1st posts here was an original topic. I posed the question ‘Dose getting a full custom fitting make sense if you are a higher handicapper that can’t repeat a swing?’. I concluded that it didn’t make a lot of sense to me because the swing isn’t consistent enough to take advantage of the service. Said it made more sense to just get proper shaft flex, length and lie. Get the full on fitting when the swing got more consistent…. Anyway. I remember one of the replies was “what do you care what others do”. 😂 Um, ok 😜
